  1. It was the original LED from the package purchased at 2011. I purchased a new LED to replace the left one. hopefully it ends all the puzzel.

The boss of the trailer depot states similar clusion: If a light is not on with a 12V directly connected onto it, this light is broken. But if this LED is broken, why it is ON when I turn on Parking light? He got no answer...

  2. Greg, I think I should cut off left light and re-test.

But a friend said it may be modulite (wire harness adapter) issue ...

This trailer worked fine for 1.5 years and I did not re-wire... so I assume there is something aged broken due to winter or water ...

Will keep you post. It is not easy to tow around for repairing when there is a boat on it all the time :*(

  3. LED Trailer light issue

My trailer LED light doesnot work on Left Turn and Both Break.

At Parking light, all LED lights (including running) are on.

So I go to UHaul without trailer to test my car wiring: everything works good on UHaul Trailer.

    Tested on the Resistance:

    White+Brown: 200

White+Yellow and White+Green: no Resistance, looks like broken?

    Tested the Voltages:

At car wiring, when emergency light flashing, both left and right side output is from 2.5V to 9.5V. At the same time, tested on the left light (cut the wire to expose the voltage.): The voltage is transferred correctly to the trailer light.

Link the wiring plug directly to 12V car power, if white+brown is connected, running light is ON. (Good) if white+yellow or white+green: no light at all.

    Question:

How LED trailer light works? Why I see both at parking switch on and see right turn light, but I see no brake light and no left turn light? Why even I give the right turn light 12V directly it doesnot show on?

Any thoughts? Thanks? Should I change both LED back to normal bulb so that there is no fancy IC in the lights?

  4. The following is the quote for the package (including installation and everything ... say ... pay & go package...)

    Dealer's quote for surge disk brake is ($1375 + 5*$75) + tx

Reinhart price for surge brake is $750 + tx but not yet to confirm till seeing the trailer

Reinhart price for eletric brake is $725 + tx but not yet to confirm till seeing the trailer

Hitchcity price for surge drum brake is $850~950 + tx but not yet to confirm till seeing the trailer

My friend did it 2 yrs ago from toronto local gargage for surge : $14xx (including tx)

    Man, life is tough :(

Smally gave me two trailer part suppliers which is a very good to start with:

    cerka industries

    excalibur trailers

    where I can find prices

    so far

electric brakes 80 bucks a side

drum kit 90 bucks a side

    wiring kit 25 bucks

a lot more then I wanted to pay

  5. :wallbash: :wallbash: I hate internet. It provides good information but it often overwhelms!

Disk Brake or Drum is another decision to make. Disk is said no good for boat trailer which is light(<3000#) and idled often so that Rotor rustness dooms.

But now you guys told me even electric has to be an option :dunno::ninja::wallbash:

Maybe I cannot decide till I take a university master degree on all knowledge about a small boat trail braking theory? :(

  6. To be safe on the road, I plan to install the brake onto the shorelandr trailer (SLB30BAL Basic model). Anyone knows:

    1. Where can I get the brake installed?

    2. Any experenice to share with me?

    3. What should I be aware of and be careful of?

Thanks in advance on any opinions and information.

  7. ~~~Head over to Roaches Point, and drop shot the 50' range, or a little south of that to a shelf of 18' dropping to 25', or the shoal just east of Jackson in 33' there's so many spots out there, try looking for the Terns diving on the water after bait phish, and you'll find the Perch underneath them

Nice information, will try these spots this long weekend ":D:Gonefishing:

  8. Hi,

I am looking for a pike fishing buddy. Many of my fish buddues are only interested on bass and few as crazy on pike and perch as me.

Since my wife doesnot allow me go fishing alone ... I need one fishing buddy go simcoe fishing with me (usually any day as long as it is cloudy or raining ... windy day ok as long as 1700ProSportLund+115HP can handle) ... Prefer some one with a hitch so that there is no cost split on each trip.

Please PM me if any one is interested...

    thanks,

    James

  9. You are right. It is time to shopping around, e.g. Lund...

    thanks,

James no offence buddy but there have been too many rants on this board about Tracker boats poor quality. Also known as Cracker.

Some board members have had issues with these boats and getting service from Tracker has been hell to be served properly.

I would look at a new boat company if I was you.

  10. Thanks for replies, they help me to understand the reason.

But the fact upsets me that I can afford to fishing bass or walleye with different rod while apparently it is out of rage if I have to do them with different boat ...

My original purpose to have a deep V is for Simcoe fishing 20% and bass fishing 80% ... :(

  11. Any one knows why all Deep V boat has a low casting deck? I only know my dream boat Tracker Touranament V18, which is a deep V with high casting deck but unfortunately it is discontinued.

So my question is, OFNers, serious anglers:

    1. Do you feel it is bugging you a lot while fishing (especially bass) on a casting deck not high enough?

    2. Is there a reason that few boat maker provides deep V with a high deck?

    3. Any replacement choice for Touranament V18?

    Thanks

  12. :worthy: :worthy: :rofl2::rofl2:

Actually I was wondering if you can make it more difficult to come to a conclusion...

Maybe I should have translated it...whistling.gif

It is just plotted data so without averages and min/max's, you are right it's hard to conclude anything.

...plus I said it looks like this year will be the windiest year. I'm no scientician.
