  2. Sorry for the confusion i didnt quite make the connection between the two links. I am not trying to be a pest i am just very keen and am trying to learn as much as possible when im not actually on the water. I do appreciate all the help from anyone. It seems to be just the beggining of a
  3. Ya Ive been trying all kinds of spoons and spinners, i actually caught my salmon on a spoon, as well as roe bags and some different flies when the others have not been working. Ive just heard about these massive runs and want to check it out i think when it happens i will be able to find it. I was out 2 days last week and got skunked after a total of aroun 12 hours on river in 2 days, even a single small guy would be satisfying, but still nice just to be on the river.
  4. Thanks I have been for the last month trying as much as possible. I got 1 salmon in mid september. Im going to keep at it for sure. Hopefully it will work out eventually.
  5. Sorry there seems to not really be any information on fishing for steelhead there its a general wikipedia page with information about the fish. Its also the first page to come up if you google search steelhead. I still appreciate you trying to help though.
  6. Thanks, so am i just waiting for the next big rain, how much does it actually need to rain for them to start running up.
  7. Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out when the steelhead will be comming into any of the rivers. I am looking to fish the credit, saugeen, beaver, and bighead river as well as possibly the grand river. I really want to catch some and also just see the runs of fish to learn more. Any help on timing and possibly locations would be great. I cant wait to giver a go. Thanks so much
  8. Hi All, This summer i finally got my hands on a fly rod, and have been out on the river as much as i can. Only thing is that i don't know enough to really start seeing the fish I would like to. I grew up fishing in georgian bay so fishing a river is entirely new to me but it has been a blast so far. I would really appreciate some help on learning how to work a river and pull more fish out then fingerling carp and the odd smallmouth. I am from waterloo but i have a car so i do not mind driving anywhere to meet up with you. I am interested in any kind of fish that you are I am also very flexible on time with essentially thursday through sunday off so i could meet any time. I would love to learn more about steelhead and trout in the rivers mainly as i have never caught one only seen them caught. I would appreciate any advice even on where to go or what to use as my knowledge is low but i will trek down the river as long as needed. Thanks so much,
  9. Thanks for the advice. What should i bring in terms of flies. I was thinking streamers and some egg patterns. Thats what ive heard most people use. Am i on the right track.
  10. I am going to go to the Saugeen for sure i think maybe tommorow. How fast do the fish move down the river from the lake. If it rained on the weekend will they be at the mouths of the river or further down. Thanks again for all your class.
  11. I have a car so i do not mind driving even a few hours to get to somehwere to fish for them.
  12. Hi All, I have never fished for steelhead before but am extremely interested in giving it a try. I do fish in the rivers around Waterloo whenever i can. I am looking for any tips or advice on tackle, location, technique or anything else you think would be benificial for me to know. I mostly fly fish these days but i am open to any ways to catch them. Thanks for all your help, Jake
