Yeah I find that some of the fish just cant be released. I keep that back livewell filling with fresh water and add a bit of ice to cool it off, give them a few min. in there to burp and most swim away well. Ive seen some floating around out there that didnt make it from people just tossing them back.

Awesome thats what I was looking for but couldnt get a addy from anyone. thanks

Spent the weekend fishing the big lake. The weather was great all weekend and the fishing just as good. Aug 3rd Headed out fairly early and started fishing at 80fow working out to 120ft well the light was low. Didnt take all that long and we started the day off with a decent king. We managed a couple early and then pulled up and headed for the deep water. The bows picked up out deeper and we managed a few decent fish including one just over 10lbs. 30ft down and 50ft back. blue spoons. 2.7mph. We finished the day 11 for 15. Aug 4th Found the fishing much tougher, tried a variety of spoons, depths, speeds and just couldnt get many hits. The first couple fish we got were on the smaller side 1-2lbs. Then I got into a nice big king just what Ive been looking for. After a few good runs out comes the hook. We did get a couple decent fish. Dan and I managed a nice double header. My friend Alex got his PB bows he was all smiles. We went 5 for 12 with fish coming from 40-65ft in 320 fow 15-20ft back. 3.1-3.5mph seemed to work best.

I was itching to get back out after Thursday so I made the trip down early this morning hoping the weather was going to hold off. It was a beautiful morning and the lake was almost like glass. Started off at 80fow and made my way out to 250fow. I didnt even have the rods all down and bam! fish on. A decent rainbow to start the day. The fishing was real good for the first 4 hours then died off a bit. We finished the day 10 for 14. 7 bows and 3 chinnys. Biggest going 11lbs. most fish came 40ft down. Dreamweaver and Fishlander spoons 50ft back at 2.7mph. I had my friends out today that just took up fishing, they had a blast each catching 2-3 fish. Getting them to run the net was a little hectic!!! big fish of the day 11lbs

Niagara Reigon Bass/Walleye - How To-
rhare replied to Cast Adventures's topic in General Discussion
some slabs there Paul, good work. -
The water fleas are intense, we lost at least 4 fish because of them. I havent fished Lake O with riggers for over 10 years and the fleas werent there then. We had way too light of line only 10-12lbs and they would build up quite bad at times. I'm respooling with 30lbs Big game as I hear it works as well as the flea flicker line and run floro leaders.

Myself and a couple friends headed out for a run at some chinny's yesterday. Beautiful day nice and sunny with a bit of a breeze to keep the heat down. we started at about 2:30 and fished untill about 7. It was getting choppy at that point so we headed in. Great day out there, we landed 7 lost 4 at the boat broke 2 off and missed a few knock offs. Good mix of bows and chinny's biggest going around 18lbs and the biggest bow around 12. we fished around 300fow between 40-60ft down. Almost all fish came off Dreamweaver spoons, 30ft back at around 2.7mph. All but one swam to see another day, my first fish downrigging on my own boat! Dan with a PB bow.

thanks for the info and report!

Was hoping to get down to Lake O in the next few days and I was wondering if anyone could give me some direction on depths to fish and what type of lures to pull. thanks in advance Ryan

nice buckets!

Thats a tough question, Ive caught 10 in a half hour one day and then 2 in 7 hours another. Depends on the lake and the conditions. Id say 10 in a half day would be decent.

I spent this weekend down in Niagara falls fishing the river. The weather was nothing less then beautiful and the fishing was GREAT!! If you have never fished the Niagara before add it to your list of to dos what a incredible body of water. Tons of scrappy fish, wicked scenery and lots of water to fish. Even just hiking around the river is a real blast. now to the fishing. We started on Saturday morning bright and early by hiking along the river and fishing some backwater eddies. The bass where very co operative. we used tubes and must have landed 60+ bass. Nothing overly Hugh but all super scrappy. I was working my tube in a big school of bait when I was pounded I knew right away it was no bass, maybe a laker?? Nope a nice July steelhead in awesome shape. What a fight it must have jumped 6 times. The first steel I have ever caught in July. and the first one on a white tube. Sunday Morning we headed out with Paul Castellano of Cast Adventures. We started working over some shallow water bass areas but the chop on the water was making the topwater bite tough so we decided to go bounce some walleyes before the sun got too high. The eyes where on. In just over a hour we boated 4 eyes in the 4lbs range and lost 3 more fish. The first 3 drifts produced fish!! The best coming in at 23" a new PB for me in my young walleye career. From there we decided to move on a fish for some more bass. This is where paul introduced us to Strike Zone Slammers drop shot bait. I had seen some of the Mark's stuff on line but never had a chance to get my hands on it. WHAT A BAIT!! If you don't have any get some in your box. In about 30min the 3 of us landed over 30 bass on slammers in various colors including a back to back pair of 20" tanks I landed in a 50 yard section of shore. It was crazy. My buddy started with a tube and got nothing well Paul and I smashed bass on slammer a quick switch and he was killing em too. At the end of the day we had landed well over 60 bass, and that was a tough bite!!! Hats off to Cast Adventures for making another weekend to remember. http://www.castadventures.ca http://www.strikezonetournamentbaits.com tightlines Ryan

Yes they do school, if you found one you should find more. Try small spinners as suggested.

Kings June 30th Ashbridges Bay - Bluffers
rhare replied to vanillagorilla's topic in General Discussion
Now those are some kings!!! great report, love those salmon cant wait to get at some. -
throw a bail or two of barley straw in the pond tied to a tree. works great to keep the green crap off the pond. As far as the weeds, maybe it needs a clean out???
-
Yes they have a good warrenty, 30 day money back even if you dont like the action or are just not happy with the bait. I would think that you should have no problem taking it back for that reason.
-
Oddly enough the 40 doesnt look like the biggest fish in the pics, but we had the scale with us and weighted them in the live release net. A couple I though would go over 30 for sure only went 22-25??? hard fish to guesstimate the weight. Heres another pic of the 40 solid fish I think it ate some rocks!! lol. As for the garbage I ALWAYS have a garbage bag with me, the place was cleaner then when I got there. Spent extra time clean up a mess of fishing line so the local swans wouldnt get into it.

This weekend I thought I would try something different for a change. Its been a few years since I fished carp so we gathered the goodies a few buddies and down to the bay we went. The carp where in transition, some spawning some crusing and feeding. We chummed the area with some sweet corn and tied up some hair rigs. Wasnt long before we got in to them and it was non stop for the day. We landed piles and broke off a bunch more. Had to end up getting some 30lbs braid as the sharp rocks started to take a toll on the tackle. Had plenty of double and even triple headers. biggest fish went just over 40lbs!! we landed 5 fish over 30lbs. Most between 12-20lbs and the odd little guy. All and all a great weekend. Dan with the first carp of the year a wee guy! home made carp and cat pod works great for about $40 40lbs beast!! I could barely hold it. Alex with his first carp at 33lbs another 30+ Braden with a couple
