  1. I'm a London Kid too!! Hey JJ were's that bass pond at?!?! LOL
  2. I've been walking out the shores around london for just over a year now, for what its worth, here's some ideas! Fanshawe Park (Fanshaw lake) just off of Clarke Road is $5.00. The top side of the dam and along to the south east shore, by the rowing club is consistent for 1-2 lb bass, and pike. Its a nice shore walk but can be busy. The Thames river is good throughout the city but with 10 miles of river to fish I have yet to find one area that is any more productive then just picking a nice spot and throwing a line. The North and South ponds in the south end of the city, just off of Pond Mills Road can provide some fun for and hour or two for small bass and pike. A short drive West of the city is a small town called Komoka. Old quaries are all over and some are stacked with bass up to 4-5 lbs. A small provincial trail just south on Komoka Rd and Glendon Dr, provides limited shore access to two ponds, watch the signs as most of the ponds are on private property and cannot be fished! Hope this helps make your stay a little more enjoyable! Enjoy the area!
  3. My recent purchase of a 14 ft tinner with a 15hp has got me dreamin of all my new bassin prospects. Just need to get the kids into a sweat shop and the Triton is around the corner! I'm thinkin about Long Point for some smallies in a few weeks but I'm not sure if the bay is protected enough for a 14 footer, or if the inner bay will still hold fish the week after opener? Has anyone been brave enough to try or will I be swimming back to the launch. Any thoughts would be great! Thanks in advance, Redmanca
  4. Just got back from Kashagawigamog! Second week of June. The eyes were starting to move out into the east end of Kashagawigamog. Found out that most of Grass Lake and Head Lake (In the Village of Haliburton) is a sanctuary untill walleye opener as most of the 5 lake chain walleye population spawns in that area. They then slowly start to move back out into the narrows at the far east end of Kashagawigamog and then into the main lake. Had good fishing in those narrows, and off most of the rock points in the esat end of Kash. Most of the fish were small 8" - 10" with some 14"-16" as well. Slow trolled worm harnesses and grub jigging in the after 6pm seemed to work well. Things seemed to shut down by 10pm. Tried to stay away from the bass as most were still shallow in the bays. There were some big largies cruzing in the bays, 3-4 pounds. Spent some time in Soyers Lake aswell. Found a large rock shoal at the mouth of the first bay on the east side of the lake as you come in from Kashagawigamog. It was well marked with three floats and a neon orange arrow marker and extends for about 80m. Went looking for eyes and ended up with a lot of smallies. Im sure it would be productive any time of the year. Its a big lake chain and in 3 days we only covered about 10%. There is a good tackle store in Minden right off #35 as well as in the village of Haliburton for bait, tackle and possible locations. Good luck in July!
  5. Going up to Kashagawigamog myself in three days. I've picked up the older maps from AnglersAtlas.com and we'll see if there even close. Grass, Kash, Soyers, Head and Canning lakes are all connected so I'm sure I'll have to try them ALL! I'll post any worth while info for you upon my return at the end of the week!
  6. OK! Without getting laughed at too much on the board, Is the bass opener the weekend of the 23rd, 24th of June or the 30th, 1rst of July this year? I know by the book it is the last saturday of June, but I am staring to see some tournament dates in Ontario waters for the 24th of June - CSFL, Sinclair, Erie, Etc? As many others here I'm Having a hard time waiting for the 30th! and I am looking for any excuse possible!
  7. Has anyone ever reversed the head on a transon mount trolling motor so that it can be mounted and used on the bow of the boat. I would love to mount a hand control motor on the front of my small boat but I cant justify the price tag of a foot controlled bow mount motor. Any ideas I would love to hear about them! Thanks in advance! Redmanca
