This monster was caught saturday Nov 17th at the Niagara Outdoors open tournament on Lake Erie out of crystal beach Ontario on the N.Y side, Fish was caught by Canadian Drew Sokolowski and weighed in at 8.91 pounds, if i,m not mistaking this should be the new N.Y state smallmouth record. On another note he and his partner brought in a 5 fish weight of 29 plus pounds!!

Its real tough for sure< i,ve had this black cloud over me since yesterday and unbelievable feelin of guilt, i,m glad i was there till the end with him, so he wasn,t alone!

Had to put down my best buddy of 13 years today!Toughest thing i ever had to do! My buddy neely! "A Truer Freind" ....by "Wild Bill" Recently, my fishing buddy of long years died. Now I realize what a true friend he was; I didn't thnk I'd miss him this much. Patrick was born without arms, and could not speak, and sadly had been estranged from his family while very young. We met and quickly became freinds, mostly because we shared a love of the great outdoors. Somehow, we communicated, me through speaking, him through facial expressions, and we found we also loved being on the water. I took him out on my boat, and from that day on, I would not think of going without Patrick; he got such joy from those trips. While I fished and controlled the boat from the front deck, he would lay on the rear deck, his head hanging overboard, peering into the waters looking for fish. He'd spot fish, and then motion to me. He got as excited as i did when I hooked and landed fish. Once,as I was battling a very feisty Smallmouth, Patrick, in his typically over-excited and enthusiastic state, slipped and fell overboard. Fortunately,he was wearing his modified lifejacket, and from his position in the water, got to see the fish landed and then released. I finally controlled my laughter enough to help him back onto the rear deck, where he dried himself off while I continued to chuckle. Being a Pisces may explain my forty-year love affair with Bass fishing. Grandpa and my Dad introduced me to the sport when I was only six. Grandpa bought a home on a small lake outside Kansas City, MO, and we summered there every year of my childhood. I learned to cast plugs to the shoreline and docks, and to drag a plastic worm for Bass, all the while bonding with Grandpa and Dad. Patrick never got to go fishing before I took him, never once had the pleasure of making a great cast, and I'd swear he got a bigger adrenaline rush and his heart would beat faster than mine whenever i caught a fish. Just being on the water was his "nirvana". Most of my buddies didn't want to come along if they heard I was bringing Patrick, because he had a hard time controlling his excitement. The rear deck became his domain, and he rarely would cede it, unless he was told to. I rarely had the heart not to take him, so we spent a lot of time together.The thrill of the sport was what he and I thrived on, and I now try to share that with others by mentoring them in the joys of fishing and the great outdoors. Less than a week before Patrick died, we shared our final fishing trip, and it comforts me to know I made his life happier by taking him along on all those trips. He returned the favor by sharing his excitement and joy with me. Fishing isn't quite the same now without him, as I miss being with him. I just returned from the lake, the first trip since since my buddy died. I had motored through the early morning fog to our favorite spot, the point I had caught that fish so many years earlier when Patrick had fallen in. As I approached, an ominous feeling came over me, as if signalling me where to cast. Maybe it was the moment, but as I positiioned the boat, I felt that Patrick was there in spirit, guiding me, as always. My watermelon-colored senko had barely hit the water when there was a giant swirl, right where my bait landed. I reeled down, and then set the hook, and a hefty four pound Smallie came rocketing up out of the water, almsot three feet in the air. It gave me quite a tug, and the battle was intense, re-affirming why I was there, and lifting my spirits on that spot where my buddy and I had shared so many good times together. I landed the chunky Smallmouth and looked it over carefully, as it looked so much like that fish I'd landed 12 years earlier, the day Patrick had fallen in the water. Gently, I slipped the fish back into the water. I knew right away where my next throw should land, and it did, but it made a different sound as it landed, and there was no swirl this time, anf no tug. A very happy, yet sad feeling overcame me as I watched my departed freind's ashes, now intermixing with my tears, as they sank through the water. we had indeed shared a special freindship through our years together. Suddenly, a smallmouth shot out of the waters, right between my boat and the boulder strewn point. I thought it was the one I had just released, and I knew right then I had brought Patrick to his heaven. I will cherish forever the moments I shared with Patrick, my Golden Retreiver. I have a open seat in my boat tomorow morning for this tourny, out of the niagara parks marina, or miller creek marina, all ya need is to pay your own entry($60) fish with me in my bass boat! WAyne we will be fishing erie!

Anyone have a shipping address i could use for Niagara falls ny or Buffulo ny, trying to order some bassfury gear and can,t seem to get them to ship to canada! Any help would be great!

We did o.k, about 12 but didn,t have a fish until sunday night, shermans was a bust all weekend, they just weren,t bitting there, we fished sunken island and managed 12, all our bigger fish came shallow 5-10 feet.

beer will be no problem, duty free has 24 bud light king cans(canadian beer) for $20, well stocked, fishing drinking and hot tub , going to be a great weekend.

we are on 305 south shore road< not far from pickeral park, private cottage ,there will be a lund with us as well, white johnson motor i shouldn,t be hard to find, lots of beers!

It,s not a matter of going faster as it is in having the motor running at its best, if Jackie can trim down and essentually loose no speed then its slipping, kinda like doing 60mph in your car at half throttle and punching it and gaining no speed or just even spinning your tires, lots going on but not going anywheres,if the motors workng to hard and not doing what it should or labouring to achive what it needs then your just killing the motor!

the prop to pad should be 3.5", this is generally a industry standard,and the wot rpms should be 5500 to 5700 rpms.that seems to be alot of prop for that 115, i,d try a 4 blade 19p, also does it have the vent plugs, i played with my stratos 21 ss extreme for almost a year before i got it right, i,m running a 2004 johnson 150 hp, 56 mph at 5500 rpms, 14.25/19p 4 blade cyclone prop,

***VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION*** regarding bordering waterways. Hey Guys and Gals Last year there was a big story about an American boat in Canadian waters that ended up with guys being threatened with boat seizure then charged a $1000 fine, etc. etc Later on there were rumors of a second incident. Following this there were all kinds of questions about procedures, people to call, steps to take, and opinions. People were calling different organizations trying to find out the correct procedures, then people posting different procedures online. For one night only all of the important people that we need to hear the correct and exact information from with be in one spot. On Friday April 13 the Niagara Bassmasters will be holding an open meeting/seminar with the following members in attendance. This event will be hosted by Ruth Sparks and will include; Border Protection USA, U.S Customs, Transport Canada, Niagara Region Police and the Ministry of Natural Resources. With possibly two more groups. If you fish bordering waterways this is a must attend meeting. Instead of hearing information from one party or another whether it is US or Canadian based, all parties will be present and will cover the regulations and requirements of traveling from one countries waters to the next and back again. This meeting could not get any better and is probably the only time parties from all of these organizations will be in one place together. Please see the particulars below. Meeting will be held at; Royal Canadian Legion 5603 Spring Niagara Falls Friday April 13, 2012 Doors will open at 6:30pm Meeting starts sharply at 7:00pm Beverages will be available before and following the presentation but there will be a strict rule of no open alcohol in the room during the presentation. I bought a l.e.d light bar made by rampage, it will not work correctly on my 07 old body style g.mc truck, tried it on 6 other trucks ranging in years from 2000 to 2006 same results , problem is no running lights and when the left siganl is on the whole bar blinks, everyhing else works, it connect to the rear trailer plug, tried it on any truck 2007 and newer with the new body style and it works perfect, i performed all the proper checks at the plug and everything works fine, why would it work on a new truck and not mine , the plug configuration is the same?Trucks and stuff says it works for 1999 and up so i,m really confused, i even thought maybe it was the ground and tried a remote ground with the same results! anyone one had similiar problems, rampage l.e.d light bar model 960136.

Daves had great service from his manufature, 3 new boats is amazing service, and i can personally atest that he very much so takes great care of his boat, i owned a tracker and lost my shirt and was forced to buy something else, which i might add am very happy with!good luck on your purchase and yes i"ll be the first to say if you can afford it "buy a lund"!!!!

yes it is! i just bump it with my leg to steer, everyone has there own prefence and use them for there own application or style of fishing.

I have a hand controlled on my bass boat now and i love it, much easier to use, mine has 2 throttle buttons on the deck, one on the left and right side, i just bump mine with my knee to steer, no looking at where the arrow is pointing and most of all way easier on the back, having your leg extended up for a 8 hour day makes for a painfull evening, i,ve had lots of guyz in my boat running it and they just loved it, select 1 of the 5 speeds in forward and 2 in reverse, and use the buttons to move you.

Fished the 30 pound challenge yesterday with Diltzy from the boards here, winds were major crazy and the water was muddy as heck, we fished the entire upper niagara, candian and u.s to no avail, the bass had lock jaw!Highlight of the day was Diltzy catching a monster musky, dropshoting using 10 pnd flurocarbon and a small owner circle hook! Great catch on some finnese bass tackle, congrats Ryan on your first musky!
