  1. I think you should come out to the Tyler event out of Innisfil this Saturday. There will be many experts there that would be happy to show you what the common set-ups are. Cheers, Tony
  2. Great read, had me laughing BUT... That would drive me insane!!! LOL Tony
  3. Today's message brought to you by the number eight! As in... 8L of BBQ sauce and 8L of Ketchup! When I went to pick up the sauces, I was happy to see that E.D. Smith took care of our needs for the Tyler G2G I believe we will have enough of these 2 sauces to feed the masses. Cheers, Tony
  4. Where are the giant critter pics? Being in the Amazon you must have seen some wild bugs, snakes, leeches, something!? Tony
  5. Looks like you had an absolutely unreal vacation, and thanks for the spectacular photos. What kind of camera did you take those pictures with, the colours are eye-popping. Tony
  6. Good fishing! That is a beautiful Ling specimen, look at the colours! Woohoo! Tony
  7. Oh man, now you will be getting regular phone calls. "Thanks for fixing us up the other day, but ever since then we are having X problem and it is causing Y to run really slow" As rick said...GEEK! lol Tony
  8. GJ guys! It is also great to see Goran was the top catcher for the day, way to go bud! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 24th! Cheers, Tony
  9. When jigging, lift...let it flutter down... then p a u s e (up to 3 seconds) Try hooking a minnow through the lips so that when your jig is in the pause phase the minnow can twitch a bit enticing a strike. You can change the cadence and agressiveness of the lift, as well as the length of the pause (including no pause at all) Keep it moving, but don't be robotic about it, fish are often triggered by a sudden change in speed, movement, action. Bring an extra fresh set of batteries for the GPS and keep in an insie pocket, keep the noise in the hut to a minimum (i.e. dropping beer cans on the floor, stomping, etc) Talking and music are fine, just limit vibrations as you are in shallow water. Have fun! Tony
  10. Spreaders on bottom with minnows hooked in the butt!
  11. Hey guys! I picked up the desert bars and chicken breasts last night. I'll be getting the BBQ sauce and Ketchup this weekend as well so you can scratch those items off the list. Chicken breasts are big, full size actually and there are between 100-125. I think a regular hamburger bun will be too small for these, so keep that in mind. Probably a larger Kaiser style bun will work better. Desert bars - WOW! They gave me a sampler of their products, here is what is listed on their website: Traditional Nanaimo Bars, Rich Deep Dutch Brownies, Tripleberry Crumble, Lemonburst Macaroon and the innovative tiger striped Triple Chocolate Chunk Brownie Sauces - BBQ Sauce and Ketchup enough for the day (I will confirm the quantity when I pick it up to make sure it will last the whole day) Getting excited now, only 14 more sleeps! Tony
  12. Why would you travel to Mexico to catch Bass!? lol Tony
  13. I am not sure on the exact # Cliff, but I would imagine at minimum it will be 100 chicken breasts. It might be a case of them so not sure on the exact amount just yet. I should be receiving everything this week or early next, and can let you know exactly what I have. The desert bars come in 'slabs' and I can cut them into reasonable portions probably 96 bars per flat x 4 flats. Let the glutton-fest begin I think the bbq sauce comes in big plastic pouches and would imagine 1 pouch would be more than enough. Talk to ya soon, Tony
  14. Mmmm great report. Glad to see that you did NOT get into any Jumbos out there either. I thought it was just me I haven't seen too many reports with many Jumbos' like it was last year. Could be a bad year class (Great year class for the smaller fish as there are huge #'s) We'll see how the end of the season turns out, only 5 weeks or so left! Tony
  15. Right on, I like the idea of it floating and being waterproof as well I think it worked out to about $1100 with the software I wanted...why does fishing equipment have to be so damn expensive! Tony
  16. An Inconvenient Truth - go rent it and watch it! Tony
  17. Cuba - Bad on the North shore, excellent on the south shore (look up Jardines de la Reina) Dominican Republic - Probably not so good, only fished for small reef fish here. Mexico - Excellent! Puerto Vallarta (Charter - http://primetimeadv.com/mexico_fishing.html & Cabo San Lucas (Billfish capital of the world) Have fun planning your trip! Tony
  18. I am in the market for that exact same unit. I wouldn't say the costs are hidden, and it's no big deal to figure out what you need. I think the unit comes with basic topographic information/streets built-in. For me personally, I want the hydrographic chart information for discovering new waters as well as discovering new areas on known waters. I feel for my needs at this time the following 2 maps will suit me just fine. ($215 U.S. per map chip, they way to go is to get the SD cards rather than CD-ROM since then you have to upload the maps to the SD card from your PC) http://www.garmin.com/cartography/g2/card.jsp?sku=2US017R and http://www.garmin.com/cartography/g2/card.jsp?sku=2US019R Cheers, Tony
  19. Confirmed for a case of desert bars! and some sauces ( I think bbq and ketchup) Tony
  20. I was also out on Saturday with Smokey's huts. I am convinced the fish were just not in a positive mood, as they weren't moving around all that much. We marked about 6 fish all day on the sonar, and had 1 light lift on a tip-up and another hit on a small jig but hooks didn't set on that one. Very frustrating when the fishing is that slow. We were in 78' of water, so don't think it was the location. I think the fish were there, just not moving around much or feeding much. The temps really changed on friday night and the cold snap definately had an impact as I haven't heard much caught on Saturday. Tony
  21. Can always get something if you plan in advance. I am hoping to get something for TOMORROW! lol Call me a procrastinator Tony
  22. Now that is some stat tracking! I always lose track after the first 100 lol Tony
  23. Yes, I'd love to catch some 'eyes through the ice. I just hated making the 3-4 hr drive out there and getting skunked for Walleye. If the action is that hot, I'd go back for sure. Tony
  24. Can someone help me track one of these down? I have contacted a bunch of Wal-marts and local tackle shops and nobody seems to carry these huts. Has anyone seen these in a tackle shop near them? Thanks, Tony
