So this is where forlorn Hawkers are hanging out now.....
Star Tzar & Maverick.... It was a true pleasure to meat you at Ed's!!! Sorry to see the self-righteous got you voted off the island. . Love to spend a day on the water with you.
I feel so bad for Rob trying to get Fish-Hawk back and up running. I wish him all the best in his effort
Drop
Sincerely, the pleasure was all mine Drop, sometimes all it takes is an honest face to face discussion to sway ones opinions regarding a few online forum "personalities".
Edited and refrained
If you guys ever get the chance to meet Drop, the man has stories that I'll make you peepee your pants!

Quite an incredible and sad set of circumstances really. Unbelievable to think all could be lost. Many people contributed and made the site a great site over the years... It fits best with any homegrown Eastern Ontario / Ottawa Valley online anglers especially, and does well to support local business in fishing. Like here, people check in every day or week just to see what's up with fishing and online friends, and Fish-Hawk certainly has it's fair share of regular members and personalities.
Hoping Rob can resuscitate it's life and bring a heartbeat back to a long running community.
What about the Quebec anglers? Lol

Neil, Moen
Kassian, Armstrong
Smith, Bouillon
Cowen, White
All mismatches if you ask me.....say otherwise and you don't know crap about hockey!

your wife falls over and you ask "did you see any fish while you were under"
-
You post the same bass pic over and over again

I'm using a uni knot to Evergreen wide snap #0, no issues with losing cranks. Did the line fail @ the knot? also remember to wet the line before tightening and retie a new knot on every outing.
Yes it was, probably heat issues!
Thanks
I must say, your steez with blue accents look pretty nice!

kinda like viewing
Not sure if this helps much, but I think you can get some stuff from the front page if you need it from here:

Can try other pages linked from the front page. Some work, some don't.
Kinda like viewing the cache version, snapshot in time!

Fifty years ago a wise man told me that when someone can get into your mind and dictate how you're going to feel for the rest of the day...that, is the ultimate put down. Don't pet the sweaty stuff. Smile and move on.

Those fish look real crappie, but the reel much less so.!!
Agreed, I use to get ridiculed on "other" forums for loving tackle! Nice change of pace.
I've tried the Invizx, I didn't like it, I was tying a improved clinch knot.....and I kept losing my cranks. What kinda knot are you tying?

"Please be advised that a major disaster has happened with the Fish-Hawk site!
As you all may have noticed, Fish-Hawk.Net has been down for quite some time now. I have been away on vacation since April 11, and was unaware of the problems until I returned on April 27th. Since then I have been exploring the issue, and working with my service provider to try and have it resolved.
After a week of conversing with them, we have discovered that the Fish-Hawk database, which basically is the heart of the site, has simply "disappeard". Powweb (Service Provider), has informed me that they do NOT have my database on any of their servers, nor do they have any backups of the database. Their retention period for backed up data is only 3 days, upon which the old data is removed and they have no means to retrieve it. Since I was away for longer than 3 days, I was not able to catch this in time. They have also checked their logs to find out what happened, however only have a short period of retention for those as well. As you can imagine, I'm incredibly disappointed in these retention periods and their methods upon removing old backups when new backups were not successful. 3 days isn't even enough time to soak something new, and I have expressed this to them with no avail at this point in time.
At this point, I will need to take a step back and explore my options for the continuation of the Fish-Hawk entity, in order to determine the best method upon which to proceed. I will be further exploring my own local test sites, to see if I have some version of the database I can restore, from either the migration to the new platform when we changed the look of the site, or the upgrade to phpBB3 I did about a year ago.
To all users of the site: I do apologize for this inconvenience, particularly at this time of year when we're all looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, and ask for your continued patience while I figure this mess out.
To all Advertisers and Supporters of the site: Please do not process any advertising payments to Fish-Hawk for 2013 until further notice. For those of you who have paid already, I do thank you, however may be returning your payments to you, depending on how I resolve this issue, and your feeling of being able to successfully fulfill my obligations to you.
Once again, please accept my deepest apologies, and hopefully I'll be able to do something to get this site back up and running, so you can all get your fix of Fishing Talk once again."

I just added another one to my arsenal.
Here is my current list.
Dobyns Champion 734C full handle - Spinnebaits and buzzbaits. Awesome rod and my first casting and Dibyns rod all in one!!!
Dobyns Champion 702SF - Tubes and drop shotting duty
Dobyns Savvy 735SC - Frogs, Frogs, and more Frogs. - Great rod with a lot of backbone. It can throw a frog pretty damn far while still looking good
Dobyns Champion Extreme 735C FH - This is my new aquisition that beat out the new Megabass rods I was looking atlast night. It will be used for Pitchin mostly but a carolina rig may makes it presence know on the business end of this stick.
IMO, They balance well, look awesome and give me confidence. I do use other brands, but this is my mainstay. Looking forward to seeing how much more sensitive the DX is compared to the Champion.
Musky_Hunter,
Myself and Lape buy from the same local store, I've heard from a few guys now that the X4 don't balance as well as the XX line up.
I'll give the XX a fair chance (purchasing a Flat Side Special) but my Dobyns will be hard to top!

Shallow diving cranks.
Can be fan casted to shore, fished on flats, weed edges, structure and covers lot's of water fast.

I need to catch this guy next time he is in Ontario

Ya know Gerritt. We're just humans, trying to do the best job we can, geez its just a message board bud. I'm sorry if each and everyone of us doesn't continue to reach your lofty expectations, but that's just the way it is.. Im sorry your done with us, you've been a valued member who has benefited in many ways from this forum. I'm sorry you think its gotten so bad that you have to leave but that's (as its every members decision) entirely up to you. Ya know you asked if you could "borrow" our rules for your own message board and we said sure. I hope they work better for you than they do for us.
I wish you all the luck in the world bud and I'm sorry to see you go. Never to post here again I guess.
As for Fish Hawk, I hope they get up and running quick as possible. I know what its like to get hacked, and it aint no fun.
Good luck Gerritt, no hard feelings dude.
Fish-Hawk did NOT get Hacked, the issue stands with phpbb, clarification was needed

Rob is back from vacation as of last night. He will be looking into it shiorthly. As per FB.
I don't mean to be negative, but a full team on a well supervised and structured forum (TackleTour) is still sorting out the bugs.
It's been almost 3 weeks and it's still not back today.
If Rob can pull this off by himself, hats off to him!
