  1. Cherry says it like it is.....not like the politically correct Bull we have been force-fed from the bleeding heart types. I have more respect for Don than all of our political leaders combined.
  2. Like the great one said "it's not how, it's how many". The score was 4-3 and that's what counts....not how many face-offs you won or how many shots you had. Pittsburg has shown, in game 3, that they are every bit as good a team and can play along side the Wings when they decide to actually show up and play. The difference so far is Detroit is the more hungry team and they are finishing plays. Malkin seems confused and frustrated, quite a difference from his earlier rounds. Maybe his assist on the game winner will break him out of his funk. I give credit to the guys like Kennedy who play hard every shift. It would be nice to see them rewarded with a key goal. Being behind 3-2 in the Stanley Cup Final is not too shabby for a team who has been "dominated". If the teams keep playing as they have, Detroit should win. If the Pens show up the cup could go to either team.
  3. WTG, brings back memories of my first boat. Lot's of excitement and gives you the freedom to fish where you want. You'll get better after every launch, but it sounds like you've pretty much got it down already. Just some quick boating advice now that you're "on the water"....just make sure you always pay close attention to your local weather forecast and always practise safety first. Have fun dude and enjoy.
  4. Introduce them to the back of your hand. That's what I do and this kind of thing happens to me every week.
  5. Yeah what Big Cliff just said.....and Sinker too. Once again, the typical knee-jerk reaction is to ban, ban, ban. To Clamp-it: I twisted my ankle coming down our stairs. Let's ban stairways. My daughter fell from her bike and despite wearing a helmet, scraped her knee. Let's ban bicycles and that nasty pavement stuff. A fisherman put a hook thru his eye while casting. Let's ban hooks and casting. There was a kid who was badly injured after falling and being run over by a riding lawn mower. Let's ban riding lawn mowers. Two people drowned after their canoe capsized. Let's ban boats and canoes. I once knew someone who was killed in car wreck. Let's ban cars or let's ban roadways that have trees along side of them. I could go on and on and on Clamp-it, but I want to ask you how you feel about the above statements. If you feel they sound a bit ridiculous, well then...... You can ban everything in the world, but if there is no enforcement then it achieves nothing.....Oh, except for the small issue of the ongoing and ever-increasing erosion of the rights and freedoms enjoyed by law-abiding citizens. We need to stop thinking in terms of banning and start thinking in terms of enforcement.
  6. Just make sure you hold the bottle horizontally. BTW they are OOS...please remove that pic immediately.
  7. I have to agree. I have a Lund 1650 w/50Honda and I've had three men w/tackle and full tank of gas and had no problems. My boat is rated for a 90 but I have never bought into the "max out your HP" theory. I can get 30mph out of mine, good enough for the fishing I do. I think the old mantra to "max out your HP" is something the marinas came up with to sell you a more expensive motor. You have to ask yourself how fast do you need to go. For me, I fish rivers mostly, where there is a launch typically ever 5 or 6 miles, so I usually launch close to where I plan on fishing. If I'm caught in bad weather, I'm only 15mins. away from the launch. And there is quite a difference in gas consumption between the larger motors and the smaller ones. I can troll all day for around $10. My opinion only, if you like to go fast, go bigger.
  8. I could not decide between Sea Queen and Nautical Queen so I combined the two and went with the Nau-Sea Queen hahaha. Sorry, couldn't resist....that's from an old Flintstones cartoon.
  9. Hi, that little red & white plug is actually an L & W Guppy, not a Lew Guppy (although I'm sure the real LEW could catch a large musky on one).
  10. Nice one dude!!!
  11. Yup, what he said. Go Pens Go
  12. Lew Karma
  13. Hahahaha Stoty
  14. Thumbs up to you for reporting a possible impaired driver Thumbs down to the force for wasting taxpayers dollars with 6 cruisers
  15. I got an idea.....why don't we just ban everything in the world and all live virtual lives on our computer....that way, nobody in the world will ever get hurt, offended, outraged, angered, etc. ......ban, ban, ban......BAN I think the word ban should be banned.
  16. Done deal buddy. Phone call coming soon. p.s. what's with the Sens jersey on Isabella. (I got a bruins sweater I can give her.)
  17. Gee Roy, I just finished breakfeat and now you got me droooolling.
  18. Wow, nice pics crazy...geez, she's getting big....just as tall as you now. Cute kid....you sure she's yours??? Hahahaha Way to go man.
  19. Hi, in my opinion there is only one way to stop people from fishing outside of the regulations........ENFORCEMENT. The people in this country have to learn that the way our country is currently run has to change. Right now the typical Canadian knee-jerk way is to regulate, regulate, regulate and then pay thru the nose to have all these regulations studied, re-studied, enacted into law and then hire more pencil-pushers to administer the ungodly amount of taxpayers money being thrown at the whole thing. Meanwhile, funds to enforce those very regulations are now eaten up by a top heavy department. It's not only in fishing, look at our hospitals.....out here in Winchester they are doing a multi-million dollar expansion to the hospital........but because there is a critical shortage of doctors in Ontario, how can they take on more patients???? Or the new Ontario building code.....a whole lot of hooey that supposedly protects the homeowner......except from the ridiculous additional fees they now have to pay. But hey, if they actually did things right, they wouldn't wouldn't be able to justify the astronomically high taxes we pay....right??? Education....yeah we need it, but for our children, not the oafs that already know they are breaking the law. The way some people like to "educate" others on the water is eventually gonna get someone hurt. Sorry for the early morning rant but......more regs are NOT the answer, and trying to educate idiots is NOT the answer.....the only answer is ENFORCE the darn laws we have now. Hey, I ain't changing my opinion on that one.
  20. I agree 100%. Besides, you can still smoke at home with your kids in the house. You are only in the car a percentage of the time you are in your home. So are they gonna ban smoking at home next??? I see that they haven't banned the sale of tobacco yet.....I guess theres too much tax money at stake (damn hypocrits). And what about parents who stuff themselves and their kids full with junk food....is there soon gonna be a ban on children at fast food joints??? Now I stand corrected, sorry it's not the McGuinty gov't., it's Canada Post who is trying to eliminate rural mailboxes. You can check out the story in last Saturday's Ottawa Citizen. Canada Post is set to deliver a fatal blow to rural mail service. The Crown Corporation is spending $500 million to study safety of roadside mailboxes. Half a billion for this Bull. Every taxpayer in this country should be appalled and outraged.
  21. Don't know if you city folk are aware but the Provincial Liberals are now trying to ban rural mailboxes. It is supposedly a "safety" issue. We used to be a "free" country, what happened?? Ban, ban, ban, regulate, regulate, regulate, tax, tax, tax.....it's the Canadian way.
  22. Hi, a friend and I used to log a lot of hours fishing pike with bucktail jigs. I always used a leader and he always tied straight to the line. Our break-offs, unbelievably were roughly equal. Now that is using jigs where 90% of the fish are hooked in the corner of the mouth. Worst bait ever for getting swallowed by pike are the countdown rapalas. Awesome bait for targetting pike, but we stopped using them because we were getting too many bad situationes where the fish had the bait halfway down it's throat. It wasn't worth it. Good luck man.
  23. Wow, nice report....right in my neck of the woods too. Thx for sharing. Not really unusual my friend. I went to a meeting a few years back, hosted by Steve Kerr (MNR) regarding the health of that stretch of the Larry. He was saying that all species were encountering problems, except for walleye which were flourishing. That was 7 or 8 years ago tho', but the st. Lawrence has always had really good walleye populations. My brother used to volunteer to help with walleye spawning gates etc. and says there are some real monsters in the Larry.
