  4. Thanks you so much everyone for all your ideas, I just wish I was able to use them last night. I didn't even get out fishing at all Oh well sometimes life just does not allow us to do the things we want. Either way the kids and I are most likely doing some shore fishing at Lake Simcoe this weekend. So there ya go
  5. I know eh.....not to shabby for a Markham chick eh J...........So are ya gonna fill me in where all the locals spots to fish are now that you moved away to yuppyville!! lol :whistling:
  6. I know eh....best 20 bucks I ever spent. We are all already talking about paying full price and heading out again for sure. Maybe just a girls trip...lol.....seeing how I out fished all the boys hahaha gotta love it
  7. Ok I think I need a little help here. Apparently Markham has tons of carp and trout.....I however, after at least 15 trips out locally over the last month or so have found NONE. My kids are gone for the night so I'd like to head out and just fish. I also would like to actually catch something. I really don't care what. Hell some sunfish would make me happy today. Anyways does anyone have any ideas?? Place to go?? Shore fishing as I have no boat and would like to drive as little as possible or I'd make the trek to Simcoe. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance
  8. Well what an amazing day!!! Thank you sooo much fishmaster for my first try at Salmon fishing. None of us will ever forget it. And let me just confirm what everyone always says. This man is just awesome at what he does. I swear he didn't stop all day!! Heck I even packed enough lunch for him and his first mate and they didn't even stop to eat for crying out loud. LOL and no it wasn't my cooking haha coldcuts Just wanted to share some pics and smiles of our day. Oh and what day of my fishing would be complete without.......... LOL......seeing how I have now developed a reputation for running around and kissing fish hahahaha
  9. I fish for bass with tubes often. I'm very interested in trying this setup as well. Which part of the tube should the eye of the jig come out of?? Still pop it through then tie your line?? This citiot would love a diagram hahaha
  10. Hey all you salmon fisherman, save some for me!!! 3 more sleeps till my charter. Any helpful tips anyone has to offer would be fantastic. I've never fished Salmon before.
  11. Warmest of birthday wishes to you
  12. Now that is how to spend mother's day!!! I soooo can't wait for my charter with fishmaster in only two more weeks. Thanks for the post Jen....lol........ now the 2 weeks is just going to take forever to get here.
  13. Hi all, I'm heading down to Port Rowan area on Saturday. Or at least pretty close to it, we haven't decided yet. Depends where the fishing is better really. Going for some shore fishing. Any ideas for spots?? Pier's etc?? I don't know the area at all so any advice would be great.
  14. No doubt wolfville............. still starting the think all the carp in toogood is an urban legend. Was there again last night I haven't even had a chance to pop in there yet and look around. LeBaron's that is. I did know it was there but like I said Joe's is still a very close place for live bait when you only have a short time to fish in the evenings. I stopped in last night to finally get a looky around. It's a tiny place but Joe is very friendly and also offering 10% off until May 26th. First month opening sale. I did manage to jot down the hours as requested. Monday's - 10am - 9pm Tuesday's - Friday's - 7am - 9pm Saturday's 5am - 9pm Sunday's 5am - 6pm The exact address is 8312 McCowan Road, Unit 1-D, Markham, Ontario 905-415-2248
  15. Actually as of Saturday one of the 2500.00 tagged perch had been caught. Fishing was slow for all of us at the perch tourney this weekend. At least all with a boat did better then us shore fisherman Ah well, a day of fishing is better then none right
  16. Nope, we fished for 4 hours and caught nothing Between my sister, myself and the kids yesterday at the festival I was the only one that caught any perch so I was hoping just to take the kids there for anything. My patient 4 year old daughter has been fishing 20 times now in her life and still never caught anything. LOL I'm getting more annoyed then her. I just want the kid to catch something for pete's sake. Oh and we were in a bit of a hurry to get out fishing so I didn't think to check it out. I plan on popping in there quickly to check it out tomorrow before some carp fishing. I'll post any hours then.
  17. LOL.......it's wasn't some major plug, well okay a little one. I'd rather go just to McCowan and 7 seeing how I live right 2 minutes away, as I also know some other OFNers live right here on the Markham/Unionville border. No doubt for the really nice stuff I'm going to hit BPS, crappie tire or hell even walmart sometimes. buuuuuuttt......BAIT close by lol.......when you only have a couple of hours an evening to fish nice to have something finally close by I will make sure to check out that other place when I'm in that area for sure
  18. I loaded up the kids, the tackle, chairs blah blah and the worms I had picked up in Orillia yesterday, while we were there for the perch festival. Thought I would take them over to Milne Dam for some fishing again on this lovely day. As always stopped in at Timmy's for some snacks to take with us and much to my delight I notice there is a brand new bait shop!!! Right there at McCowan and Hwy 7 on the south west corner (the same plaza that has the McDonald's and Blockbuster Video) I couldn't believe it. I actually just stuck my head in thinking I might have had a total newfie moment never knowing it was there and said to the guy, "How long have you been here?" He replies "Only a week!" Phew.....no newfie moment hahahaha So anyways it's right there, Joe's Bait and Tackle, right next door to the convenience store. Worms and all. Small but still nice to have locally :thumbsup_anim: :clapping:
  19. Huge bummer about the prop jigger........boat looks fantastic though!! Well done, I had no idea you were so talented!! When I get mine I know who to call for tips to pimp it out!! Again Nice job man:)
  20. So I have never fished trout before, never even seen in done....ya ya haha.....any tips for trout fishing at Milne Dam would be helpful. I would like the take the kids this week.
  21. Almost always practiced catch and release here. haha especially seeing how I don't even eat fish lol. I say almost always as sometimes other people with me might plan to eat them. Not too often though. I'll catchem, cookem and cleanem..........won't eatem!! Even my son now says swim away to live another day fishy
  22. haha Whopper I think ya know my posts well enough, that maybe I should answer that on the other board hahaha
  23. If cougars is what you are fishing for hehe you are better off fishing in Rocky Mountain High!!
  24. Ok just called the town. My mistake Milne is open just the park facilities and the parking lot at McCowan and 7. She said the best entrance is behind the KFC near Markham Road on 7. Shortest walk.
