  1. I saw a program recently on tv that would be the equivalent to North Woods Law. I think it was filmed in Seattle. About 6 game wardens with dogs surround the bear, let the dogs loose and get peppering at it with rubber bullets. The thought process is to deter the bear from ever coming back to an urban area. That bear is probably still running lol

  2. I used to belong to a hunt camp that had a coleman lantern from the 50s. It was a CPR lantern that used kerosene. Was in great shape and probably used to this day. Strangely enough it worked on the same principal as the naptha lanterns of today. I didnt think kerosene was volitile enough.

  3. I havent been there in a few years, we used to fish just outside of the nets. Good catches of escaped rainbows to be had. Early summer was the best time for us, Make sure you have all your safety equipment on board. OPP constantly checking that area. Not a big secret, lots of people fish there.

  4. Hello all. Anybody ever been to Cris Willis Lk. with Lakeland airways out of Temagami? Have a fly in booked with them on the fathers day weekend. Questions that I have is the fishing any good, accomadations, you know, the good, the bad, the ugly.Any input would be helpful. Thanx in advance. johnb

  5. I could'nt agree more with the negative comments. The only reason he has his operation there is acsess. At best that spot is only productive in the first week of the season and thats it. I have sent buisness his way in the past with nothing but negative feedback. Wont do it again. It does seem like his reputation is catching up with him and thats unfortunate. I hate to see anybody do poorly in the fishing buisness but he's doing it to himself. The good news is there is lots of other operators on the lake who appreicate the buisness and work hard to please their customers. John B

  6. You can add methal hydrate to the tank, but I dont beleive thats going to solve your problem. As suggested before, Increase your line size to 1/2 inch. Also while your doing this, move the filter inside. The inside of these filters gel up to the point that it looks like somebody sneezed into it. Not only does it make sense to move the filter inside, its code compliant. I like the cartridge style filters better than the canister style. You get better flow thru them and are cheap to replace. Good luck, I hate working on these things when its this cold out. John B.

  7. I have to agree with ya on that one. Bears usually become a threat to you when they are threatened. I too have gotten between mama and cubs before twice and both times all she was looking for was her cubs and her way out. Both times. As stated before only a problem when they dont have that way out. Then lookout. Dont put yourself in that position. Once had one locked in my storage shed. He got in, and somehow the door locked behind him. Heard a ruckus during the night, went out in the morning to investigate, opened the door to find myself face to face with a 300# male bear. Left the door open and 15 minutes later he wandered away. But remember RESPECT.
