  1. someday Brian..someday
  2. Hope to get the boat out one more time this year...tomorrow at Belle River. The problem is one weather site says big south winds in the morning switching to north in afternoon, the other site shows big north winds all day. Big south winds is doable...big north winds is death. Since we are content to fish from 8-2 we would be willing to make the long trek if we actually knew with some reliability what the winds would be. How can one site have the exact opposite of the other (north vs south??). This much I know...odds are if we make the long drive it'll be a north wind, if we cancel, oh it'll be out of the south alright!
  3. awesome! Tell me when they are $149.99 at Cdn Tire and I will get one
  4. apparently there are some nice ones! That destination has been on my mind...just too far for the one or two day ventures I go on currently
  5. Good thing about north Pigeon...got a buddy heading there tomorrow! Then again wouldn't be the first time we used the boat as an icebreaker to get to some late season musky fishing
  6. I know this is obvious...but after the big scary spark you did remember to hook up the battery properly right? And do you have a way to ensure that battery has power and you didn't fry it (if that is possible)
  7. I personally don't care what my anchor looks like
  8. I have a buddy who has caught lots of muskies on st clair on a spinning reel...we troll with it...only issue is it has no clicker so you have to pay attention to that one!
  9. ya wind is the killer for st c. This time of the year it is often a trip-canceller
  10. Did you go? and if you did...any luck? We were up in Kawarthas last week for a couple days and did terrible, hope you did better
  11. haha so true...stupid bass
  12. the feedbag is on...congrats on a couple of beauty fish
  13. Good on you to get it back in the water without further delay. I would agree with your assessment of mid 40's...she's a beaut. The best part is, when you get that upper 40's fish or even 50 to bump that one out of being pb. Those bigger girls are like a whole different beast...just bigger all around (usually!). You will know what I mean when you reach that milestone. Good luck and go get it! Lots of time left still this fall (I hope).
  14. wow those stories usually don't turn out so well (often because it takes us a bit to notice it is even missing). Glad you guys caught on in time and could easily retrace your steps
  15. awesome! I think I know where that is. Heading that direction later next week I hope. So how big is your new pb and what was it before?
  16. I have been wondering about this man as well.
  17. wow that is a beauty!
  18. dirty dirty sheephead....the ol freshwater drum has got my heart pounding a few times. Have also caught a few musky trolling that got themselves all tangled up....come in sideways. 36 inch musky coming in sideways with a 40 k wind pushing your boat away from it feels like a new world record
  19. nice when you can eat your own bait
  20. for those of you who do the lower unit now, but then fish a few more times, do you change it again later? Or do you just do a quick check? or maybe you have the luxury of heated garage?
  21. don't talk that way! Got out in the boat this past Monday in the crazy winds and have a couple more trips planned still. Right now looks like end of November will be my last time out
  22. Wow I am shocked. It was crazy windy all over southern ontario yesterday definitely not canoeing weather. Hopefully this story turns out better than it sounds
  23. beauty fish!
  24. crap...reminds me of the firetiger husky jerk I had hanging on our previous cottage. When we sold its the one thing I regret forgetting to take with me. Good luck in your search
  25. well its better than asian carp introduction I suppose.
