  1. Hi everyone, heading to Jack's Lake near Apsley Oct 8 - 13th and am looking for boat launching spots in the south west area (fire route 50A) that can handle an 18' boat. The only one I am seeing is way up in the north end, Anchorage. Any local knowledge would be great, we will have a couple of 4 wheel drive trucks if the ramps are a little dicey.

  2. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of a map (or purchase one) of Jack Lake near Apsley. I know it is fairly popular but could not find anything on Angles Atlas or at Adventure Fishing Maps. Heading up in the fall and from looking on Goggle Earth it looks like it could be tricky with all the rocks and Islands.

  3. Heading to Balsam for a week at the Provincial Park with my 2 boy's Aug 10. We have fished Balsam for a couple years (mostly small perch) and I figure it would be nice to hook some pike for a little more excitement and I do like to eat them. We have a 14" alum and mostly fish the East shore of North Bay along Indian Point and the North shore of West Bay towards Mitchell Lake.

Not looking for honey holes just a higher percentage area. Thanks

  4. Hi All. I was asked yesterday where would be a good place to go Crappie fishing around Turkey point on lake Erie and I didn't have an answer. Are the marina's a good place? Is it the right time now that the ice is out? How about the Waterford ponds? Any help would be appreciated. From shore but could put a small boat in.

  5. Hi , I am searching for any info on Baxter Lake and Gloucester Pool, May be renting a cottage on Baxter for the thanksgiving weekend and was wondering if the fishing is decent, I did a search of the forums and haven't come up with much. If anyone has fished the area can you tell me what to expect for water depth, weeds, fish species. thanks

  6. Hi. Heading up tp Killbear prov park next week and hauling a small alum boat. I understand there are ramps in the park just interested in any general area for panfish and walleye, I will be fishing with a couple of kids so want to keep them interested for a least a couple hours. Thanks

  7. Was wondering if anyone has camped at Balsam Lake provincial park, I will be taking 2 boys 12 and 8 so I am hoping for good swimming and biking, I know the lake some and know the fishing is decent but to camp for a week I am looking for references. If you have a fav camp ground in roughly the same area (2-3 hours from Toronto) I am open to suggestions, Have a 14' alum boat. Thanks Jim

  8. Dalrymple is 2 lakes, upper and lower I believe, the lower being very shallow. The 2 are connected by a narrow river rocky in spots but you can get through it. We stayed at a resort on the upper lake. the river passes under a bridge (can't remember the name of the road) and there is a ramp on the right side on the river and a area for parking. It is not the best but it works. We did catch some nice walleye at the end of the long point early in the morning but that was in october. Hope this helps and good luck.

  9. I am planning a camping trip with my 2 boys (12 and 8) and was looking at Emily as it is fairly close and on the Pigeon river and lake. I expect the fishing to be decent but can't find much actual info on the park itself. If anyone has camped there I would be grateful for any insight on the sites. We will be tenting. Thanks Jim
