  1. Hello, No need for competition that is why I fish tournaments. You may see me out near Glenora it all depends on where the fish have moved to by Saturday. Here is a few pictures of the set-up on my boat.
  2. Scott, Fish can be anywhere at this time of the year. You can find small pods of walleye right now anywhere from Thompson Point and as far east as Kingston. You can launch at the Glenora Ferry on the north side if you come down HWY #33. -s
  3. Hello, You will have to use common sense out on the water and always have a safe route of navigation no mater what mother nature hits you with. Only you will know what your boat is capable of in the different conditions. If at any time you feel un-safe than keep the boat on shore. Most days you will be fine, but fall fishing can be tough as front after front passes through with some very nasty winds. Long range for this Saturday is winds gusts greater that 50 km so it could be a very bumpy ride or impossible to fish out of some boats. Fish safe... -s
  4. Hey CrazyHook, Same colours as last year, plus a couple custom colours I had painted at the factory this summer. -s
  5. I am all ears...you can post any information you have. -s
  6. It was a 2004 boat...it is not a new boat. -s
  7. Sorry to hear about your boat...that is some bad luck for a first trip out. It is an older 2004 Tundra with a 20" transom so the sealant in the transom splash-well may have been leaking or below the water-line sealant was not used by the service centre. Tracker changed that design in their 2006 and newer year models when they went to a 25" transom on the Tundra 18. The full splash-well seam is now welded to prevent any sealant from leaking. I would recommend you instal a second bilge pump as a backup. The best choice would be an automatic bilge pump if you ever plan to leave the boat in the water over night or unattended for long periods of time. A loose fitting, cracked connection or many other variables can make for a very bad day on the water in any boat. It is a great boat and now that you have worked out few of the boating blues you can get down to some serious fishing. -s
  8. You are right there Lew... I remember when I use to back-troll on purpose into the exhaust fog to stop the bugs from eating me alive. Now days most of the DFI 2 strokes burn pretty clean. -s
  9. Just as an option for trolling with the optimax you may want to look at a 5 blade High Five prop and the SmartCraft Tach and Speedo gauges so you can control RPM with the troll control features. If you do lots of trolling, you may have to change or clean plugs a little more than normal if you notice a decrease in the performance of the opti during the fishing season. I guess with the recent invention of 4 strokes people started trolling, not sure what we did when all we had was 2 stroke motors. I think you will be fine with either motor, just prop it right for trolling. Enjoy your new rig. -s
  10. I would have to say my favorite in the spring on Quinte is anything with some orange on the belly to mimic the large number of perch in the area. Fish On... -sheldon
  11. I do not want to reply for Mark and what he was doing. I will mention on some days the fish love the action of inlines on one side because of the side slip and speed. If the fish are taking baits on the port side you want to switch all of your baits and inlines to that side. I have often trolled with six boards on only one side of the boat. Blue top with white belly was a hot bait in January. Fish On... -sheldon
  12. He goes by Mallard1 on many of the boards, Excellent walleye angler on his home waters Erie, Detroit River and LSC...therefore Quinte is pretty easy picking when trolling with cranks in the fall. Fish On... -s
  13. Hello, I fish walleye tournaments and live bait is slowly being replaced by artificial. A good example was this past summer in July when I was fishing Michigan's Upper Peninsula with Ron Seelhoff - the 2006 PWT angler of the year. Most of the anglers where catching fish with live bait and bottom bouncers and Ron was contour trolling Lead-core and small shad raps to catch the big fish. -sheldon
