Because the plane is landing on the water and not damaging anything when it does so, unlike trucks driving through a bush. I have to say that I agree with the closures, but it should not be accessable by plain, train, or anything else for that matter. If you can get there without a motor, do it and have a great time when you get there. The way this is set out it is rewarding those with more money, which is crap. It's crown land, our land, use it, but keep it protected and as beautiful as it is.

That is the problem, people think this way and it's far from the truth. If people continue to do it our kids will tell you all about it when you are in the old age home. A couple for dinner and leave the rest for me!

I prefer to put mine on a metal stringer, let it float behind the boat all day, forget about it a few times and drive away, THEN get to the dock for a photo holding it up by the stringer.

We are going to North Bay Friday night and headed up to camp when the sun comes up. I think it's about 3 hrs from Northbay so we'll be there mid morning. Can't wait, counting the hrs........

2 Stories 1 - When it happened to me it was in there deep, tried pulling it out (did't want to stop fishing, we were in a tournament, I know you understand) and my buddy almost puked just watching me, no go. To the hospital I go, they basically did the same thing just replace the line with a pair of shiny pliers! 2 - eyeware - At a train in camp, so a million miles from anywhere and my brother's spoon bounced off his glasses and stuck in his face! A quick yank and it was out. Never been on a boat without glasses since. Kinda makes me feel sorry for the fish

I have an "oldie but goodie" 50HP merc that has a slight attitude lately and I am looking for some advice. Everytime I try to fire it up it takes a long time to get it going, maybe 5 minutes of trying or so, turns over well, just wont fire. Here is the kicker, if I fire it in the drive way no issues, and once it has been running in the water it fires within 1/2 a turn. I can be out all day, starting and stopping the motor and will not have the issue again, ...................................until next time I put it in the water ofcourse. My motor has been doing this for a couple years now and I would like to fix it if at all possible. Thanks Kev

Thanks to those who have added input. I am heading up Sept 19th, excited to hear about the folks trips who are headed up in the next little while.

We get checked constantly on the Detroit River, OK by me, just doing their job. Both in the same boat or each on their own boat, I have seen them both.
