  1. Ha ha ha, I remember the fake antenna, that was awesome!
  2. This is my favorite part................"After a quick trip to the hospital he was back and landed another nice bass!" That's Awsome! Good For him.
  3. You should also consider the wheel base of the vehicle compared to the length of the trailer. There are recommended maximums. Longer is better, pure and simple - for reasons related to both safety and comfort. That continual up and down bouncing you feel as you tow is (how clever a name!) is known as "trailer hitching" When you hit a bump with the tow vehicle, you will shortly get feedback for the towed vehicle as the tongue load increases or decreases momentarily. This is considerably better with a longer wheelbase tow vehicle. From a safety standpoint, a longer wheelbase gives more resistance to "jackknifing". This is the tendency (semi trucks are notorious) for the tow vehicle to brake faster in a panic stop than the towed vehicle -boat in this instance. The tow vehicle starts to slow down at a faster rate, the boat keeps right on coming and tries to make the "jackknife" blade swing shut by trying to force the tow vehicle to "swap ends". As others have mentioned, this might be the most important consideration in towing. If you tow with a short wheelbase vehicle and have no trailer brakes (or they don't work properly) you could be looking for trouble
  4. In my opinion nothing is meant to tow except a truck.
  5. Nice trip! Next time please take some pictures, we like pictures here!
  6. YYYYyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppp what he said
  7. OK so someone has to play the devils advocate here.... How long would you expect a company to hold onto parts for an obsolete product? Should Ford still have shelves full of parts for a 1972 Pinto? We are always looking for improvements and new developments in our equipment and companies continue to do so, why would they hold onto an inferior product? I see nothing wrong with their policy.
  8. I have that motor, 50:1
  9. I have seen quite a few in the detroit river, there is a really shallow bay that holds goldfish and Koi......
  10. Way to go Simone! The worst is definately behind you, never look back, it just keeps getting easier from this point, I am on year 3 or 4 or somthing now, I have no idea. Question now is what are you going to buy with all your money!
  11. Well done Simone, you back must be getting sore carrying us.............
  12. I could not have said it better myself.
  13. Great job Ron, keep up the fight and keep us posted as to the date. There should be a nice crowd there to support you.
  14. Yep, mine fall apart all the time, eyes and the paint. Too bad becasue they do cacth a lot of fish.
  15. mmmmmmmm Lucky!
  16. Looks like a great time, and meal!
  17. It's silver bass time in the Detroit river so it's time to get the kids out. Took my son and his buddy out on Sunday for some fast ad furious fishing. When we arrived at the launch (8:30) there were people pulling out because it was too windy and the wind was blowing in the same direction as the current, which makes for some very tough fishing in the river. I had been pumping the kids up all week, no turning back now. We ended up in a few "calm" spots that I knew and caught tons of fish, the kids had a blast. It was another multi species day on the river. Silver bass - too many to count, 35 would be a good guess Walleye - 1 Small mouth - 2 Large mouth - 4 Goby - 1 There is nothing like the look on a 9 yr olds face and the sound of "I have one, I have one, fish on", hopefully next time the wind is down a bit so we can reach 100! Overall a fantastic day on the water. Sorry team 2, nothing tournament worthy.
  18. That is awesome!
  19. All garages are NOT built equal, trust me. No chance of getting my Expedition in mine and my neighbour puts his F250 in at 50MPH......you would never know there was a difference from the front of the house.
  20. I am on year 3 (I think) I don't even think about it anymore, first few months are tough. Think how much more fishing time you will have with Jack, that should get you through!
  21. I could care less if they strike. Unions are learning the hard way that their days are numbered, they are useless. They have taken things way too far and companies are starting to take a stand. It's about time.
  22. Do you always pour it in your gas? Can you use too much or use it too often?
  23. I am so jealous, good for you.
