You know, I never realized that there are so many so called "Leaf Haters" and fans of of teams, that love to watch leaf games. I can't recall the last time I watched a Sens versus Detroit game... Or a Habs and Sens game.. Just accept it The leafs are in... get the parade route ready.

Yes, and rightly so. Its a tough job. Its an honor to be allowed to be an officer and should be treated as such and I know it is by the vast majority. I very much respect the pains police go through, however its a chosen one and the scrutiny should be well documented and described as part of the job at the onset. I am not saying police should be hung from there heels in the middle of town square. Just as long as the bad apples are weeded out and its not swept under the table. Noone wants the good cops off the street. Just the crazies.

Eitherway if I got flooded last year I would make sure I was ready this year just in case. Start emptying the basement, double checking sump pumps buy some sand bags or whatever. I don't live there but I know a few who do and fortunately they are on higher ground. I don't think its a panic situation, just a be prepared situation. Hopefully after last year the engineers and local govt's have these things on there mind now so they can react quickly. All the signs appear to be there. Late Thaw, Heavier snow. Rapid temp increase. Only thing they can't predict is the weekend of heavy rain they got.
-
I thought that there were reports of it nearly breaking or something. Who knows. Needless to say with nearly double the snow and simlar temps expected in april, if there is another rain storm it coudl be real bad news two years in a row.

Haven't you guys all seen robocop... Judge Dred... or so many others. Oh yah they are movies right? Well the reality is as long as there is a person behind a badge there is a chance of that person being just as mental as a person behind a butter knife. Its part of the risk. Now in reality yah this was not a good situation and the offender will and should face life in prison. IMO police shoudl be held accountable no different than the public would be. In fact maybe more strictly. Why? Not because I hate police that isn't the case. It's becase they signed up of there own free will to do a job and protect the public versus kill the public or take bribes, or play favorites, or discriminate. You pull your gun and jackhammer the trigger you should be held accountable. Of course I dont know the full story and non of the public will likely know the full story. Thats what the courts are for and thats where this should end.

Don't forget all the problems they had last year in Bancroft with the York flooding downtown. If they have double the snow this year and it melts faster its going to be a night mare. I know last year they were very close to having the damn break emptying the bulk of Baptiste. Crossing my fingers for those up in the low areas near water. It was around April 20th the flooding hit hard in Bancroft. If the warming and melting trend continues having double the snow in the same amount of time would be devastating. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Canada/2013/04/21/20758726.html

Yes, it was out last night. I was trying a calculator yesterday, couldn't figure out if the moon was above the horizon or not.

Does anyone know if the moon will be visible tonight?

Has anyone fished these lakes or lodges?
jedimaster replied to Lunatic's topic in General Discussion
Pretty near gone in elephant yes, but in Baptiste there are still good musky to be had. Bass fishing in both lakes is excellent. If your goal is musky though I would go for the French. -
That's a good one. Unfortunately I will be missing tonight's game. Go Leafs Go!!!

I would normally cook as I am a good cook but circumstances here warrant an eat out type thing. Too bad it's supposed to rain, I had a few good outside ideas. I think it'll be coffee and a meal. I will check out each of the spots you guys mentioned. Keep them coming though it may be a last minute decision. I don't even know what she likes. Haha. crap I hope she isn't a member of this forum. Rofl And thanks. -
Anyone have a restaraunt they would share? Looking for something that isn't asian, has good food, quiet, can be out of the way of aurora but trying to keep somewhat local. Say from newmarket to richmondhill area. Not really looking to break the bank but not Mcdonalds either. Something in between. 20-25 dollar type entries are fine. umm yah so its a first date type thing so any other advice on a place to go in that area would be much appreciated... Toronto I have no problems finding somethign to do but I don't know the area.

The fishing on elephant and baptiste is excellent. Lots of 5 pound plus Bass, some excellent pike and very good musky.
