  1. Moe went from 21st to 17th place overnight. Someone must have alot of time on their hands and is voting as fast as they can point and click a mouse. GL in your quest to put Moe into the top 4 and thus gaurantee her one of the 4x secondary prizes. I'm not sure it can be done in 4 days though. Cheers FOTB
  2. Moe has move from 33nd to 24th very quickly. It looks like some folks have disabled their acceptance of interent cookies and are voting as fast as they can click a mouse. Cheers, FOTB
  3. I guess none of you read my previous post in this thread. I know you are all trying to help Moe climb the ranks in this "Adopt and Angler" online voting contest, but your efforts are rather fruitless. That is unless each and every one of you voting for Moe, decides to disable their acceptance of "interent cookies" and vote at least a few thousand times a day. Then Moe may make some progress and move up a few notches in the online voting. In my opinion....it just isnt worth it to sit in front of your PC and click on the "Vote" button time after time after time. I calculated that one vote takes about 2 seconds. That works out to 30 votes a minute and 1800 votes an hour. If you do this for a few hours (3) each day for the entire duration of the contest, you would have approx 250,000 votes. Is this all worth a $350.00 BPS/WFN prize package? That is what the top 4 online vote getters win. To some entrants obviously, but to me it just is not worth the effort it would take to win one of the 4 secondary prizes. The Grand Prize Boat/$2000 BPS shopping spree is awarded by WFN....they are the ones who pick the one winner out of all the 400 entries. Cheers, FOTB
  4. Thanks for clarifying that for me mattyk. Cheers FOTB
  5. I was always under the impression that you can't deliberately target Musky with a conservation license. If you do catch an incidental Musky, it must be released immediately. Please correct me if i'm wrong. FOTB
  6. I have also entered the Adopt an Angler contest and currently sit in 10th place. I wish Motv8tr all the best in winning the Bass boat, $2000 BPS shopping spree and WFN fishing lessons. At one point I was in 2nd place, but have quickly dropped out of the top 4. Just an FYI. The top 4 online vote getters win the 4 secondary prizes. The Grand prize winner is chosen by the folks at WFN. GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES: Brand new 2007 Panfish 17 Tracker Boat with Trailer (retail $15,000 Cdn.) $2,000 Shopping spree to Bass Pro Shops Canada Lessons from WFN Pro Angler Four (4) secondary prizes will be awarded to the top 4 online entries as voted by you! Secondary prizes include: $250 Gift card to Bass Pro Shops and a WFN prize package. Please Note: Several folks who have entered this contest, have discovered a way around the 1 vote/24 hour period limitation. If you disable the "acceptance of cookies" from within your browser settings, you can vote as many times as you like. In fact you can sit in front of you PC and keep voting for yourself for hours on end if you want the secondary prize bad enough. The botton line is....the 4x secondary prizes will be awarded to the Adopt an Angler entrants who have the most time on their hands. It's amazing what folks will do for a $350 prize package. Cheers FOTB
  7. Thanks Cliff. I appreciate the votes. I've sent an email explaining the situation, but won't hold my breath on anything being done. We'll see. FOTB
  8. My sincere condolences go out to you and to everyone who knew him. I'll be wetting my line on the French River at some point tomorrow and when i catch my first french river fish it will dedicate to JustHerb. FOTB
  9. Rant.... As some of you may know I entered into the WFN/Roger Personal TV "Adopt an Angler" contest. The Grand Prize is a boat, $2000 shopping spree, etc and the winner is to be chosen by WFN. The secondary prize (valued at $350.00) is awarded to the top 4 online vote getters. The problem is with the online voting system. Many people have figured out a way to get around the "1 vote per 24 hour period" rule by disabling their accepting of "internet cookies". I realized this when i saw a few entries go from last to top 4 in a matter of a few hours. What the secondary prize comes down to is, who has the most free time to sit in front of the computer and keep voting for themselves about 1500 to 1800 times an hour. I did it myself for an hour or so and of course made no progress. I am currently 4th and will soon drop out of contention for the secondary prize. It's a drag when you consider that i have a few online communities, family & friends, coworkers, etc voting for me daily. If there was a way to disable the voting function when a client is not accepting cookies, then i hope they will do that. If not, then award the 4x secondary prizes to the 4 runners up to the grand prize winner. It's the only fair thing to do. ...end rant. Cheers, One more sleep and i'll be FOTB
  10. Fair enough. Folks will just have to use the seach function to find the standings thread. Edit: I have created the same post in the OFC Tounament main section. Feel free to delete this thread. Cheers FOTB

  14. Thanks MTP. It's good to know, that it's hard to get skunked on the French river. I'll be posting a detailed report of my entire week, when i get back on the 7th of Jul . It's looking like a cool, but stable week up there for the entire week. I hope that report includes a few species of fish and a PB ski. Cheers, FOTB

  21. Welcome aboard and thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had a great time fishing and caught a few bass in the process. Too bad about the tick bite though. Kick off your shoes and stay awhile. You will be glad you did. Looking forward to your next report. Hopefully it doesnt take 6 months. j/k Cheers FOTB
  22. That gives Team 3 218" to increase their lead. Well done. Keep those inches coming. Still need a ski though. FOTB
  23. With several OFC members gone to Lakair, it was surprising to see 475 visitors online yesterday at noon. There were only 25 members and 450 guests. Congrats on a new milestone. FOTB
  24. Knowing i was going to be gone June 30th for a week on a French River Fishing trip. I decided to get some weeding done and mow the lawn. I was almost done the weeding and about to mow the lawn, when i turned around from my kneeling postion and saw a curious looking skunk staring me right in the face (about 2 feet away) for what seemed like an eternity. It was probably more like 10 sesonds or so, but seem much longer. I didnt move at first and neither did my new friend. A loud noise came from the other yard (the neighbour was doing some work on his shed) and the skunk now looked more confused and scared then curious. It was off in the other direction, like a shot. I put 2 and 2 together and figured it was roused from his previous home under the neighbours shed. I went into the house to get the camera and grab a couple of pics. It eventually ended up going in behind my shed and i havent seen it since. I might have to call someone to trap it and take it to the woods. I sure hope this isnt some type of sign from the fishing gods of how things will go for me next weekend. FOTB
  25. Thanks mistyriver1. Every vote counts and i've moved from 37th to 8th in just 2 hours. I'm movin on up. Cheers FOTB
