  1. I troll all the time with my 9.9 and use my garmin force electric to steer. With it I can set a course with the remote or I can follow a track that I made before on my garmin fishfinder, I can spend hours without having to steer the boat even while fighting a fish it is truly an autopilot

  2. We were in our favorite small town restaurant for supper last night and our waitress was telling us about an incident 2 weeks ago at their other location. They had a 17 year old girl working at the door checking peoples vaccination receipts and some loud mouth jerk came in. When the girl asked him for the receipt he said he wasn't vaccinated and had no intention of ever getting it. She told him that he wouldn't be allowed to come in so he spit in her face and walked out. I wonder if he would have been as "brave" if he was talking to guy rather than a young girl.

  4. I have an ancient 14 footer that modified into a sqareback. Bought 16 yrs. ago for $40. I run a minnkota 30 on it and it goes just fine. I added seats hung on brackets from the gunwales. For a low center of gravity!Since i fly fish a lot, for added stability i made up some retractable stowable outriggers. I can stand and cast. Very stable!

  7. Yeah, I tell people there is more of me to love..........😁 I did a seafood chowder a week or so ago that started with my home-smoked side bacon, cut in chunks, and a whole bunch of bacon fat (from the same stuff, sliced and fried in the frying pan), then I sauteed the onions and celery in that. A very fine start to a mighty tasty chowder, even if I do say so myself! But it ain't low cal and it ain't low sodium!!!!😲 Doug

  8. So dinner last night turned out great. The more I use the sous vide the more I like it. A quick sear in the cast iron and the meat was excellent. As for the puffball this was the first time I tried it this way. Mixed some parm in my smoked bread crumbs, dipped the pieces in egg wash, then the bread crumbs and fried in smokin' hot bacon grease. Without doubt the best puffball I have ever eaten in over 40 years, nice and crispy on the outside and just right inside. Wifey said it was the best meal she's had in a long time. My new go to for sure.

  9. 100%. I have had a bunch of them over the years, two piece and one piece. I tried both pants and bibs for the bottoms. My current (and probably forever) set is a bibs bottom and a good top. There is no way to put this delicately, so......... if you need to take a leak when you are fishing, you want to be able to take Willy out without getting undressed. Some suits make this pretty difficult, unless Willy happens to be a foot-long.................🙄 Salus is a Canadian manufacturer, and their gear is excellent. Doug

  10. My 50/50 USA born Italian Ma, Zia's and 100% Italian Nona's took the time to make 1/2 diameter mini meatballs, maybe 100 for a family sized Lasagna we took on any given summer Sunday picnic to Long Beach on Lake Erie or one of the mini lakes on highway 6 north. 2 massive Lasagnas for dinner, around 5 PM, lunch was as soon as we landed all the Pontiac and Chevy wagons. BBQ'd sausages and peppers on crusty panini, hot dogs and burgers for the little ones. Dad had a 59' Chevy wagon that held more people than some airplanes. 3 adults and 1 infant in the front seat, 3 adults and 1 infant in the ,idlle seat, 3 children and 1 small Grandmother in the traffic facing 3rd row. That be 12 humans in 1 big arse car. The prosetion was more than 3 people movers. Did I say 2 massive Lasagna? How about 3 or 4. I hoped 4 because I loved cold Lasagna for breakfast before school. I still love it. Here is a recipe for disaster, put any 2 or more women in a kitchen and ask them which recipe is best. My former wife had the audacity to ask that question of 4 of the ladies. Lucky I was within ear shot and changed the question to which of these 2 TV chefs is best? Still not good but not the start of a vendeta! I know you guys must miss me.

  11. Here's my canoe setup. 2.5hp suzuki, 16' square stern sportspal. Great for my wife and I. On solo trips I use a wooden box that sits over the front seat that I built, where I can store tackle boxes, and the portable fish finder. Paddling is ok, not great. The little motor works great, and you don't have to worry about lugging around a battery. Caught my first muskie out of this rig!
