  1. Tie on your most expensive lure without a wire leader on, that'll definitely locate you some pike! (Might get expensive though haha)

  3. Cant believe its been 9 months.... Im truly amazed that when we get up here, its like we never left, a bit of tree cutting to get in and the weathers not the best, but WE DONT care.. the air smells like freedom to me. Had a quick outing last night after putting the dock and boat in (getting tougher every year - i dont know why lol) it was slow but Monique got 2 to my 0.. and she even promised me i could catch the first one. PFFT.. todays another day. Looks like the moved the rain up to tonight and the morning which is a bonus. Doesn't matter though.. I think i just need to sit in a chair and stare at the river for a few days.. seems like its been and incredibley long road.

  4. Well... I have been pretty absent posting here for a while 2 kids in 2 years and a pandemic what can I say. Was supposed to go to Nipigon this year after skipping last year due to the 'vid and the birth of my seccond child. Crown land camping was up in the air till last moment this year and so one of the regulars took a contract to frame a few houses with no guarantee we were going to be able to go. So we cancelled . We all had some vacay planned but the 15 hr drive would cut into fishing......Plan B We endeded up north of North bay and south of New liskard. Boats loaded heavy enough to not get on plane for the 40k ride in, mostly beer and single malt weight. Lake was down 4 ft of water, unpleasant as the fist 20 k of our trip was normaly through 10-15 fow only kissed once , We got pounded by 40k wind the first few days not able to fish prime spots. Enough with the negatives, what we did have was a few days of stellar fishing 20 -25 inch walleye and two years of chirps and laughter saved up, made for a wonderful release. Even ran into fellow ofc'er chuckenwind up there was good to catch up, Haddent seen him since we braved the snow one fall like lunatics to chase Auroras dropped In the wrong lake a bunch of years ago... long story. Even rumors he caught a Walter of a lifetime. Maybe he can chime in with a pic of the beast. Hope everyone's doing OK. Hopeing to do a little more fishing this year. Here's the goods.

  5. I guess gas came though the vent and got on the outside of the plastic fuel gauge. I buffed it with some glass cleaner and now I can read it. So good for now

  6. Be careful with those cheaper ones. Make sure to let it cool well in between sealing jobs so that the element will last longer and also keep the wire nice and clean.

  7. I avoid that candy aisle at all costs, mixed roasted nuts are okay but not those bags of sugar, lol.

  8. So I was perusing the latest Princess Auto booklet today and noticed they have a 3 pack of 8in x 22ft vacuum sealer bags for half price at 12.49. That's a good deal for sure if anyone is looking to stock up.

  9. Was good to see you up there too Freshtrax. Here's the big girl I caught near the area you pointed me to. Think my buddy had his camera on Bigfoot mode unfortunately.

  10. Went up north with my son. He finally got his boater card and he had fun driving the boat. I thought he’d set a speed record when he was by himself but I see my max speed is still tops. He caught a few nice fish.

  12. Hell ya man! I did a similar trip this spring too. Need to get a full report up, we got a lot luckier with the weather but it seems like you did a bit better on the fishing! glad to see you back hopefully you are free enough to do some more posting, been a bit of a ghost town around here lately. Truthfully seems like a lot of the guys are retired from fishing/physical limitations limit how often they can go and poke a few. what you are going to have to do is teAch the kids and bring them when they are old enough. Then they can be the ones chirping you old farts

  13. It's all good Sir, I didn't see it as bashing, just someone desperate to find me. I'm going to do whatever I can to help him even though the rod blank was discontinued some time ago.

  14. I'm guessing more people are drowning then getting run over by their own boat. We lost a member here from exactly this. Out in the big water fishing by himself, went over board (maybe setting lines? who knows)
