  2. Years ago I went to a local fishing supply shop local and friendly. Hwy 7 and Islington; ‘Fishing Stuff’. They were great people, all family. They sold us bait at all hours and loaded my reels. They ran it 24/7 seven day a week. The family that ran it also worked other jobs. They finally closed 20+ years ago due to the long hours. Well it all comes around, my brother was redoing his tiles and I also needed some done and we were introduced, masks on. . . This morning they showed up, small job set up in the garage for power. . . he sees my fishing pictures on the walls and my fishing rods and lights went on. We have a common interest!!!! He was the guy who was the owner of Fishing Stuff! As he said you do look familiar! What a blast that was. he has kept the loading line machine and loads of reels and parts and a lots of other stuff. I was shocked, he is the next door neighbour of my brother’s daughter who she put us onto him! My highlight of the week for sure.

  3. I won't go into any details but a company I've been involved with decided to merge with another company and there would be some surplus funds that would be split evenly with some of us. It was estimated we'd receive about $2600 each so it was rather nice this morning to receive word that rather than $2600 it was gonna be nearly $37,000. As mentioned above, it's a nice way to start my day 🙂

  4. One of these days I’ll post picture of a coin my dad found in a tree cavity in the 50s. A papal scudo from 1634. I found it in our family homestead in 1967! It was written up in the Toronto Star. i wrote the article and was paid $50.

  5. I service the shop's mailman's vehicles. I haven't had to go to a post office or mailbox in years. Everyday he shows up around 10am with my mail (Bills mostly LOL), makes himself a coffee and takes a 10 minute break. On the way out he picks up my out going mail and looks after it for me. He's about to retire and I'll miss the guy. As a retirement gift I put a $100.00 gift certificate for the shop, in an envelope addressed to him. He always checks that I have the proper postage on my stuff. I wont put a stamp on his letter; so he'll notice it's for him. Dan.

  6. I thought it humourous that many would see this and not find anything wrong with the statement, of course some will always be higher than the average.

  7. Go fishing if you want. I've been out several times, no issues whatsoever. I had an OPP follow me most of the way to the lake the last time I went, and no issues. Drove past many PTBO police towing my boat too. You are all falling into the trap if your not going. Your not spreading anything, or catching anything if you are alone, or with a member of your household. Just go. I'm sick of all the Bull rules. There is nothing illegal about it at all. Launches are open, unless your township are jerks. Just go! See you on the water! S.

  9. Well yeah if they are stupid enough not to follow the rules they deserve the ticket so no charge for traveling no charge for boating or fishing I can live with that

  10. Automotive has gone the same way. You test a failed circuit and you know that it is just a $10.00 relay; but that relay is incorporated inside a module assembly. Chrysler has had issues with their TIPM (Totally Intergraded Power Module) it controls all secondary electrical systems. Things like lights, heater/AC, power windows and so on. Talk about a hard sell. Well we found out why the left headlight isn't working. It's the TIPM and it'll cost you approx $1200.00 to have it replaced. There's usually a few moments of silence on the phone; before I hear a very loud WHAT! Like what one of my instructors told me years ago and have had to use his line many times. I didn't design it, build it or buy it; I'm here to fix it; sorry for your luck. Dan.

  11. True. All you have to do is spend $250,000 to get it.
