Hello Chris, If you wish you can double your luck all over again. Ron is building custom reel for me in the fall of 2021. So, it only make since if you are the ONE who will build the custom rod for me. Just a hint. Nevertheless, I'm sure you will agree that Ron's reels and rods build by you are match made in haven.

I'm a lucky man, I frequently get to build one of a kind custom rods for some of the finest hand crafted custom reels made, and all of those reels are made right here in Ontario.

This is the problem with the trades right now, they pay so well but everyone wants to start their own business and get rich. The problem is that running a business and doing the trades are two very very different things.

As far as I’m concerned If you can stay 100% up to date with the latest and greatest when it comes to electronics in the fishing industry than you’ve got some seriously deep pockets. livescope is the top of the chain in marine electronics and that unit is equipped for it. That’s good enough for me!

I am with Shane here Cliff . You are going off the grid, so use what nature has supplied. You can store the wood outside under tarps to ensure dryness. Also there are many sleeping bags out there now that will keep you warm after the heat has lowered from the fire. Up in the morning,re stoke the fire and yer good to go.

I've always disliked the whole idea of tournaments. From the start of BASS many years ago, it just degrades the sport IMO.

Make sure Lew they are insured if you do hire someone. I used to do side projects but not worth the hassle. Good luck

Excellent post - and yes we all have those people and those people get to experience one (1) of these trips with is and are not invited back. We now have 3 boats and 6 guys and we split everything equally from the time we leave the house. We drive 2 per vehicle and I arrive at the guys house with a full tank in my truck and a full tank in my boat and when we get back to Burlington we fill them both up and split the cost between us - but more often than not the other guy covers the cost. We change locations all the time in the boat but if you're in the bow you have the motor as well - period. On the last day over breaky we throw all our receipts in the pot - groceries, snacks, steaks.......whatever you contributed and we add in the cabin, dock fees, bait and taxes and deduct what you have already paid out (receipts) and we shuffle the money around the table making everyone whole again. We all round up when paying and round down when asking and it works well for everyone. We eat very well........very well - LOL. This year we had Wagyu steaks for one meal and a seafood boil for another meal. You may pick your friends but pick your fishing buddies well!!
