  1. Yes, I wouldn't wish this on anyone except a few people living in Ottawa. 😉 Even though most people get over it quickly with no real issues I wouldn't take the chance that you could end up really sick. I don't think it's worth it.

  2. Yup, I just stand them up around the inside of the p cooker, add about 3-4 cups of water and cook them for about 20-25 minutes depending on the amount. Take them out and let them lay flat and pat dry. Out to the BBQ and add whatever spices, rub and BBQ sauce makes you drool, Only needs about 10-12 minutes on a med hot grill to crisp them up a bit, meat side skyward.

  4. With Bombardier owning Evinrude, there won't be replacement parts issues for many years. Just like the automotive "manufacturers", they don't actually manufacture the parts that go into their vehicles. They buy them built to their spec. I can't see Bombardier/Evinrude being any different. Then there will be the aftermarket industry, that will pick up on a lot of the top moving parts and have them cloned or find a different replacement part that will fit and function. Dan.

I do a dry rub of garlic and onion powder, brown sugar, salt , pepper and paprika for a few hours in the fridge , then stand them up in the instant pot and do on high pressure for 22 minutes with a cup of apple juice, any more and you will have a hard time getting them out in one piece. Lay them flat on the broiler pan covered in foil for easy cleanup, baste with BBQ sauce and under the gas broiler of the kitchen stove .

  11. Made back ribs earlier this week. Dry rub, and 4 hours in the oven at 275f. It was difficult to remove them from the pan as they just fell apart. Put them under the broiler for a bit with BBQ sauce, crisped them up... gone! HH

  12. I think that all four stroke Johnsons were made by Suzuki. I don't think the OMC/Bombardier/BRP every made a four stroke outboard of their own. The smaller Evinrudes were made by Tohatsu. They never made a small sized E-tec.

  13. I have a 1969 Chevelle that I never got painted. I did the body work on it and epoxy primed it in 1981. Then I backed it into the corner of the shop and put it on stands. I needed the money for my wedding that I had saved to finish it. I had the idea that after I got married I would get it painted. I am the second owner and it has less than 70,000 miles. It is the 300 Deluxe model with a 307 and 3 peed automatic transmission.

  14. Pork t-loin makes the most excellent bacon, I call it bacon candy. "THEY" said you can't make bacon out of tenderloin, well you most certainly can! And it's delicious! Doug

  15. Agreed! Every town's homes should be like that, or like the ones in the Edward Scissorhands movie. No ice fishing man. I'm on the clock 24/7 and unable to go too far. Char are biting on Soper lake behind me, now that there's just enough ice in places to go jig 'em. Sucks I can't because it's a huge lake that sees a great run of smaller to average char. The char taste like a milder salmon, less oils. It's super nutritious fish. Those are tundra skitters that buzz more than they bite. Covid is here in Nunavut now. Arviat in the Hudson Bay is a town of about 3000 and in the past week they've accumulated over 100 positives. Most are mildly symptomatic, as far as I know none are critical. Whale Cove has positives as well. It's a town of about 500 people. Rankin Inlet is a hub community (meaning gateway to all others) and it has positives and lastly Saniqilluaq has positives but, being completely separated from anywhere it may have stopped it's spread by quarantine. All these communities are in the Kivalliq (Hudson Bay area) and I'm currently far away on Baffin Island in one of the smallest communities. I'll be very interested to see how Arviat cases unfold. Do not believe at 100 positives that this community will stop the spread now. On a micro-scale of what's going on in the world, Arviat's higher than average rate of respiratory infections (including TB), it's very young population (highest birth rate in Canada) and, it's often understaffed health center and generally ill population, what happens there will be a good indicator to how Covid may affect elsewhere and, give insight to how serious "or not" the bug really is.

  17. Thanks for all the kind replies guys. 2020 has definitely been a roller coaster ride. Old Ironmaker said it best. We should be very thankful for what we have and appreciate and be grateful for all the little things. I have for sure put my time in and am very proud of some of my fishing accomplishments this year and hope you guys appreciate the fish porn. Had some more pics to share but couldn’t load fir some reason. Maybe next time. Let’s hope for a great 2021

  18. I wouldn’t buy a new model evinrude myself. That said the last 2 stroke Yamaha I sold, I had guys fighting over it on kijiji and offering more than I asked to beat out others. I ended up selling it to the first guy that offered my asking price and he EMT’d me a $500 deposit on the basis of the YouTube video I made of it running, sight unseen other than the pics, so I’d hold it for him until he could pick up that weekend. So there’s definitely a good market for 2 strokes!

  31. I didn't read all the posts so if this was suggested sorry. I use NADA.com. It is the Blue Book for used boats, from canoes to yaghts. Find your manufacturer, find the make, year and fill out the questionaire. It will give the average selling price in USD. It is very close to our prices in southern Ontario once converted to CDN funds. Of course things like location will vary prices. A boat in Florida is going to be less than a boat in Nevada.
