  1. I have been thinking about picking up a small generator to use here as a backup and to use at my property up North. I was surfing on line this morning and saw that PA had a 2000W inverter generator for $499.00. I decided to drive over to Newmarket to have a look. When I couldn't find it I asked one of the staff but they didn't have any on the shelf. That young man did everything he could think of to help me, checked to see if they had any on hold that hadn't been picked up, offered to phone other stores... when he couldn't find one he even checked to see if he could discount a similar but more expensive unit but it was beyond what he could do. Along came the department manager, when he heard what was going on he intervened and was able to do a price override and gave me the more expensive unit at the same price as the one I came for. I have to tell you, I am so impressed with Princess Auto and their customer service, oh and the new generator is everything i hade hoped for and then some. 😊

  2. I was going to reply until I saw Bunk had done so already, with his in-depth review (and with which I agreed when I read it and probably still would). And yes, I have owned a pile of boats, various hulls and designs, and would not have a boat unless it was a tiller. But then again, I am an old cranky jerk like Fisherman..........πŸ˜‰ Doug

  5. Thanks Brian, the winds are howling now with heavy rain and my power went out 10 minutes ago but the GENERAC fired right up and my house is running normal again. That generator was the best $6000 I ever spent. πŸ‘

  6. Snowmobiling is on the way out, last I heard from a couple of dealers, ATV's are outselling sleds by a wide margin simply due to almost year round use. Can't put a snowplow on a sled, well maybe Terry can, lol.

  7. Be good if you could give us a play by play with pictures as you go thru the rebuild process, I think everyone enjoys following that sorta thing.

  8. I re-did my boat 14 years ago. I painted it myself. The prep work was very time consuming, but it makes all the difference. This time I can just give it a clean up, a light sanding and wack the paint to it. The prep of bare alumiinum takes a lot of work, but it is well worth it to do it right. I am tearing mine apart again this winter for another rebuild, and paint touch up. This will be the second time in a 26 year old boat. Where are you guys sourcing your vinyl flooring? And what products are you using to fasten it? This time my boat will be getting a full 3/16 aluminum plate floor, and mostly aluminum storage, with vinyl front to back and top to bottom. I plan to rebuild the transom this this time, not that it needs it, but whats the point of doing everything but the transom at this point? Might go with an engineered product, so I never have to touch it again. After 26 years of fishing and hunting out of this boat, i have a few ideas, and changes i am going to make. I'm kind of excited, and anxious at the same time lol....Everything on it has been upgraded in the last 4 years; electronics(2018), bowmount (2020), engine(2019), trailer (2017)......its time for a makeover. I considered buying new, until I looked at the prices. Then considered buying used, until I looked at the prices, so I will rebuild what i have one more time, and get another 20 years out of it. I love that boat! We have been through some serious stuff together LOL S.

  11. I launch alone a fair bit, and I just tie the bow rope to the back of the trailer, back up and the boat floats off and I just pull it to shore gently with the truck. I've gotten some looks and people wondering if the boat is just going to float away like they think I forgot to tie it off lol.

  16. nopers...all were in the 35-37 inch range. The one we lost at boatside...waiting for the net to show up...was about 40. It was hooked with only 8 feet of line out so our net man wasn't ready when we had the fish at boatside. Still had to complete his retrieve etc...pretty sure he wanted me to lose it
