Few things I have noticed this summer: Crazy amount of campers, boaters and RV's on the highway (considering no US travellers, limited out of province travellers) going to the cottage and even on our drive from Thunder Bay to Sioux Lookout Bass Pro and Sail were picked clean when it came to fishing and camping gear Doing a few small kayak trips locally I have noticed more people out than previous summers even though many parks are offering reservations Spending time on the water at the cottage I saw more fisherman out than I have in the past 3 summers combined On the flip side I have noticed many for lease or going out of business signs in smaller, local main streets which is very sad. Chatting with a few different outfitters I know that many are in tight this year and may not be able to survive another summer without American guests Strange times indeed. If I had to make a choice, I would look into a 40lb for that toon. Scott, these things push a lot different then a tin or a yak. Your pushing 2 bladders with weight in the middle. I used a 30lb way back on a smaller one. It was ok, but on the larger toon, it was not that friendly. Why I went to a 55lb. When you want to get off quick, the 55 lb was nice.

I replace all of my fluids as per the schedule in the book. It is good cheap insurance. The brake fluid of yesteryear dot3 and the new dot5 are different with the 5 being less hydrophobic meaning it stays separated between the dot5 and the water a little better. The down side is it allows the water to contact the ABS system and sensors in the brake system and they rust or become blind. Art

It's a recommended thing, preventive maintenance. Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and can cause the internal workings for master cylinders, calipers, etc to become rusty inside. Usually done on a 2 year cycle or mileage, depends on your vehicle. The fluid is usually clear but turns yellow to brown after going bad.

pump a 30 should have no problem pushing you around. Heck when i put my 55lber on my 14 foot tinner with a casting deck the thing nearly threw me in the lake all of the time. You arent going to break the sound barrier, but it will get you where you need to go no problem at all.

if he is native nothing can be done .. 2 years ago i was at ganny and a native was bowfishing downtown shooting arrows in 6 inches of water as they moved up stream people were standing 30 yards away from him as he shot towards them . i called police and they told me they have had a number of complaints about him doing it and the mnrf told them that if the people felt unsafe to move as the native has more rights to be there then them... this is nothing to do with racism as i have a native grandchild.. i am not happy that they can do it ... but they can
