  1. I love Zone 14 bass opener. I've got my milk run that I've been doing for quite a long time and it never disappoints. Water temps were 66 when I got to my spot, started off quick and that wasn't going to be the ticket today. Long bomber casts with spybaits was the pattern that worked for me today. Winds were ripping out of the west so it was bumpy out there. I did keep two fish (I know, unheard of for this guy) and one was still full of eggs. Spawn has been crazy this year. If I would have known that she would have gone back. I did however set a PB for another species I chase in Gbay, lol. The funny thing is I swear I've raised this fish 3 times over the past 4 years almost every single 4th Sat in June. It was nice to finally meet her. This is definitely her home base and today was my lucky day. I was by myself, it was chaos, I'm so happy I left my muskie gear in the boat (Net included). I tried to get a tape on her but with her not sitting perfectly straight in the net it was almost impossible and I wasn't taking her out to lay her in the boat to do that. She was a giant. I don't know if she touched 50 or over but it had to be close. She spent a few seconds out of the water for a quick pic and back in she went. Took about 5 mins to revive her, I'm glad the water temps were low. Way too long of a fight on bass gear but not much I can do about that. She righted herself and stayed a few inches below the surface for about a min or so, and I just followed her around with the boat. After that some healthy tail kicks and down she went. I'd love to meet you in the fall sweetheart when you've got a feedbag on! It was really nice to make your acquaintance.

  2. That’s what I’m wondering! It would make sense but it’s mind blowing that it’s not listed in the schematic. Its also very possible that it’s a broken piece off of somewhere else? i reached out to th kustoms and I will try reach out to rockys. I may just also send this reel in with a curado that I own that has some internal issues that need to be cleaned up. Still cheaper than buying new especially these days.

  5. This will be my last outing til fall now. Water is up to 67 deg, and I was baking by 8 am. Walked past my last furthest spot of last time and found a great stretch. There was another hatch going on. These ones were small and black. I actually watched them rise off the water. That was cool . I found the tungsten bead head flys I made in #16. They were in another fly box buried in my bag. They were the ticket. Caught 2 , 12" res bows close to the tail out of the pool. Allowing the fly to start the sweep and retive quick as to make the fly look like it is rising. That is my theory anyways.LOL These fish have such great colors. They even fight very well. Good way to finish off and I have a brain filled of what to have and watch on the water and hatch going on. Thanks for reading my trial and errors and thanks again for the advice guys. B

  7. It looks like the type of spring used to maintain load on a ball bearing. I’d go right back in and look for any thing resembling an exposed ball bearing. A short spring like that isn’t designed to have travel, just load.

  9. I have to admit that I’ve donated my entry fee to the Chong/Brownridge tournament winnings pool on eastern Lake Ontario/St. Lawrence. That is your water for sure. Nice fish David.

  11. Never a fan of Walmart for groceries, especially meat. I object to being charged a fixed price for a package of something when I don't know how much is in there or how much per pound they are charging. Another rant while I am on a roll is bought a package of peameal bacon from a supermarket. I weighed it at home and within a very small margin of error the weight was right on. However, when I opened it there was a thick wad of packaging underneath the meat soaked in what I believe was water. I weighed it at 5oz!! Since moving out into a small community we have embraced the local butcher, baker and produce stands. Great (much superior) quality, no unnecessary packaging and prices not much higher than the supermarket. Rant over..🙂
