I follow my mom's recipe which doesn't use any soup or milk. In a casserole dish, I layer the bottom with slices of butter. Top the butter with the thinly slice potato, one layer. Add sliced onions on top of the potato layer, then salt, garlic power and Parmmy cheese, then another layer of thinnly sliced butter. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish. The top layer gets the same as below, except it gets significantly more Parmmy cheese on top. Bake at 375 for 45 to an hour. No, this is NOT a low cal version, but the potatoes will get crispy and butter saturated. Feel free to dip any bread into the butter at the bottom of the dish! HH

A 12' thinner is loud compared to my kayak. -An electric motor is loud. -The boat itself is loud. -tin boats are not known for comfortable bench seats. My Hobie seat has built in adjustable lumbar support. -a tin boat uses gas or a heavy battery to recharge if using electric -a tin boat requires registration and insurance (might be covered under home policy depends on insurer) -requires a trailer and a spot to keep it. I keep my Hobie inside my apartment. -Kayak needs no launch and I don't have to pay for parking most of the time as most municipal lots that I know only charge if you have a trailer -sitting in a tin boat is not the same as sitting inches off the water. I have been through creeks 4" deep to access back lakes I'm not trying to make anyone sell their boat. I am not a fan of the misconception that people who kayak fish do so cause they can't afford a boat. I can't tell you how many times I hear "why don't you just get a jon boat". I think that 12' jon boats suck, that's why! Lol (just an opinion not picking on anyone who has one!) I sold my boat cause the kayak is better (for me and what I want to be doing).

If our mitigation efforts work we will never know how many lives were not lost. There is still time for this to go either way. I can't take any talk about a conspiracy to "take our rights" seriously.

That's what I'm looking forward to Cliff, and if it means not taking the boat out well that's what I am going to do, look forward to living longer and doing my absolute best to ensure I am not the one that passes on this thing to people I love and care about, simple as that I am going to tell you all what I say to everyone I know that goes for a ride to get out of the house because they all say they aren't in contact with another soul and not harming anyone. The idea is that if for any reason 1st responders need to be called out resources are squandered. Vehicles should be on the roads for 2 reasons. 1, to get to and from work if you are considered to be essential. 2, to get to and from grocery stores, pharmacies and getting fuel to get to and back from an essential job. I think that is pretty simple. I won't delve into the discussion as to whom and what should or shouldn't be essential. I will say this though, our 1st responders are the most essential people we have right now. Please just stay home. It's tough, it's boring, it's terrible but it's better than being dead. I don't know how hard that is to understand. In my humble opinion and that of the leaders we elected to make the tough decisions for us just stay home. Nice fish but please just stay home.

Hi all, Wabigoon Lake has been very mediocre in terms of crappie fishing on the ice this year for me, that is until half way through March, and now it is on fire. In some areas it does not seem to matter where you drill holes, they are everywhere and some nice size ones too. Ice is going to go fast this year as soon as night time temps approach the +℃, GET 'EM WHILE YOU CAN!

I am being lazy and not going all the way back and reading every comment but as a new kayak owner here is my perspective I bought a kayak at the end of the summer. I have access to cottages with nice boats but work, life, family etc allows me to get there 2 or 3 times a summer and I was not getting my fill of fishing, Enter the kayak I love it - to date I have spent about $1200 on the package including a way to load it in my pick up (5.5 box) It has allowed me to spend some time fishing locally, do some day trips and I will most likely bring it to cottages and camping whenever that happens again. I don't think it will replace boats or will be for everyone but I do believe it certain parts of the US and Canada it has really taken off - cheaper jump in point, better for accessing certain spots and for some a better connection to water/nature Cheers Gody

We have a Honda plant in Alabama, they make Pilots and Odysseys. Be damned glad when they are back rolling. We also have a Mercedes, Hyundai, Toyota and a Mazda plant. All are shut down. When they are shut down, all of there suppliers are shut down. At some point, things have to get back in production. We can't wait until there is zero chance of another case. If we do the economy of the states and Canada will take years to recover. Sometimes you have to get realistic.

I don't think that's the case. I think our politicians and medical officers got caught with their pants down and now their heads are spinning trying to close the gate after the lion has already got out.

As I see it this is evidence that what we've done up to now is working.

Sail had quite a few of the Pelican Kayaks in stock when I was looking - nice boats My only advice for anyone who is planning on buying a kayak (winning is another story) is to check it out in person and try sitting in it, ideally in the water. I totally was convinced of the brand and type of kayak I wanted until I did a water test. I found the seat to be flimsy and uncomfortable and so i went in a different direction I have fished out of mine for over 5 hours straight w no issues and my back always give me issues lol

Believe it or not I'm serious! I had a great boat, 16' side console with a 40 Merc and a Terrova on the front. It just sat and collected dust once I fell for kayak fishing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It's one of those things, you either love it or you don't like it. Those that love it are almost all die-hards, there's got to be a reason for that right? For me, it was about slowing down, simplifying, and focusing on the experience. It's also a lifestyle. I don't just fish from it, I do paddle (now pedal) in camping trips too. It's also great exercise. I lost 55 pounds in the last few years. I made other major lifestyle changes so kayaking doesn't get all the credit but paddling is fantastic for your core.

I owned a 1976 Starcraft Mariner from 1979 to 2014. It is a center console. It was a great boat.

You look on google earth for cottages with their own boat ramps. Then you drive by to see if they came up from the city if not ,you launch there and park in their driveway the fine for trespassing 80 bucks the fine for launching at a posted ramp 800. Bucks you do the math. LOL

Beaches always worked when I was a kid.

It's not the camping per se that the Gov. is banning, it's the getting to and from the crown land they don't want anyone to do. It's a form of a travel ban. If we don't get it we will be forced to follow what other countries are doing like Italy. Curfews.

Ron I tried something similar back in 2017. Haven't done it since (my bad) but it was an incredible experience. So good. Didn't use the bacon to wrap the burgers, that's truly inspired. Here are a couple of photos I could find from my archives.
