  1. Decided to take a group of first timers out for ice fishing along with educating the on the rules and importance of conservation. Didnt expect them to go out and buy equipment so here is my humble attempt at making tip ups with whatever I could find around the house. Stuff used: Wood from old crate stool Paint mix sticks Wire hanger Leftover fishing line Rubber bands The only thing I bought for 6 bucks was the wire steel strapping. Going to test it out this thursday for perch. Should work fine, I hope.

  2. After a very long run with this reliable sled, the time has come to let her go to a new owner. I had no intentions of selling this one until I got a new one for Christmas. A 1998 Polaris Trail Touring with a 488 Fan cooled engine, electric start, reverse, 2-up seat. The sled is in good shape with many upgrades, Recently added new skis, trailing arms, seat recovered, new battery, all lights replace just because they were the originals and didn't want to be left in the dark while riding the trails, studded track, ice scratchers, tank storage bag and has a hitch for towing the hut. This year I have just replaced a few bearings that needed to be done in the skid as part of the pre-season, new sliders (found another new set to include as well), new carbides, gear oil replaced as always, new spark plugs (Compression is at 120 a side as it has been every year I've owned it.), greased, full tank of premium gas,and ready to ride. It also comes with a service manual and a 2020 Trail pass. I do have the ownership. Asking $2000 or best reasonable offer. Sled is currently in the North Bay area. 20200202_112256.mp4 Pull start.mp4

  3. If you put this up 2021, I would've been driving up to you as soon as I saw the ad. Good luck with the sale, Will!

  4. Thats how we made them in the ole days. You can slide a quarter under the line at the back of the tip up for balancing. Also round off those sharp edges on the holder.

  7. Sally's still not completely finished but I had to try her out. It shouldn't be choppy a ride after I cut the bolts flush with the cleats. Dan.

  9. I haven't missed a week of fishing yet. You gotta get off your butt, and go. Sitting here complaining doesn't do anything to help. Put some gas in the truck, pack 'er up with your gear, and go for a tour. You won't know unless you go. I've seen so much false reporting online this year, its rediculous. One person says theres no ice, i drive, and find plenty. You won't know if you don't go. I can't really complain, i've been out lots so far, and have 2 major 5 day trips coming up that are going to be amazing!!

  10. Fact is if you are using crappie bait , light line and have some crappie in your live well. If people or a CO sees you catching bass and not moving to get away from out of season fish they can still charge you
