  1. Of all the sun rises I have watched on this bay here, this one is right up there. I am not sure the pic,s do it justice, but I could see the phoenix,s rising. If you look long enough, you will see the beak and wings. No I am not crazy nor do I puff the magic stuff.LOL I had one chase in 3 hours moving about. 1 chase and 1 fish. Oh and YUP, left the inflatable behind again. Damit. This is why I have the foam jacket always on the toon with a whistle attached now. I knew I felt naked this morning while heading out. I am always in a rush to get out there. Need to slow down ole man. like I said, I only had 3 hours to float about to fish as I had pork to smoke, peppers to char for a friend. I,ll save that for the cooking thread.

  2. On a planet far far away, there lived a race of aliens called the Trids. On this planet there was a mountain, and atop the mountain was a tree which hosted the most delicious fruit known the the Trid race. But there was a problem: there was a cave near the top that was home to a monster, and every time the trids tried to climb to the top of the mountain, the monster would run out and kick them all back down. The trids became tired of this, and so they contacted Earth to ask for help. Earth didn't find this to be that big of a problem as they were at war and dealing with many different things, so they sent over a rabbi. The Trids were happy to have any help they could get, and so they gladly accepted. The rabbi arrived and wanted to get straight to business, calling all of the Trids to the base of the mountain. A lot of them were too frightened, so only some showed up. The rabi led the Trids most of the way up the mountain, only to have the monster come out and kick all of the Trids down but not the rabbi. Frustrated, the rabbi went to the Trid village and told them that in order to get to the top, they would all have to show up and work together. The next day more Trids showed up, but not all of them were there. The rabbi sighed, leading them up to have the monster once again kick down all of the trids, but leave him standing. The rabbi went back to the Trid village and told them that if every single last Trid wasn't in attendence the following day, he would return to Earth without helping them. The next day, every single Trid was there. The rabbi smiled and started leading the Trids up the mountain, this time quite confident that they would make it all the way up. But as usual, the monster ran out of his cave and managed to kick every single Trid back down the mountain, once again leaving the rabbi standing. The rabbi went to the monster's cave and asked "Monster, why do you only ever kick down the trids, but always leave me standing?" To which the monster replied "Silly rabbi, kicks are for Trids."

  3. Justin Trudeau was struck by lightning and killed. The coroner was called to view the body at the morgue. They opened the hatch, pulled the body out and pulled back the cover. "I thought he was struck by lightning by lightning" said the coroner, "so why is he smiling?" "He thought he was having his picture taken", said the attendant. HH

  4. Ok, so the only thing missing is the kitchen sink LOL. My son and I had another wonderful weekend, did some fishing, exploring, and harvested some beaked hazelnuts. My CFMOTO is a year old now and I have to say I am super impressed, some of the trails we explored this weekend were through some pretty rough therein and this thing just eats it up. The power steering sure is a blessing for these old arms! We actually managed to wind our way through some very old logging trails, some places where there were no trails and managed to work our way up to a place called Tower Hill which according to Siri is 280 metiers above sea level. What a beautiful view and you could litterer see for miles , it was like being on top of the world. The beaked hazelnuts were something new to me, I never knew they existed until my son pointed them out to me, all these years living in the country and they are all over the place and I didn't even know. When I finally knew what to look for I was amazed at how many there were. If you've never tried them you are missing out, it's a bit of work but well worth it. Yes you can teach an old dog new tricks LOL. The catching was a bit slow this weekend, the best producer was a pink worm, it caught pike, large mouth, perch, some huge rock bass, and even a sunfish that had to be the smallest fish ever caught on a hook. Seriously, this thing wasn't more than 1 1/4 " long and it attacked a 5" plastic worm, talk about attitude? Next weekend it's off to visit some lakes I use to fish about 50 years ago, we didn't have ATVs back then so it was quite a hike to get back in to them. According to my son there is now a "sort of trail" but we'll be able to ride our bikes in to these lakes (I know I wouldn't be able to walk it anymore). Really loving having this little 2.3 Honda outboard, without it fishing some of these out of the way lakes would be a lot more challenging. Anyway, that's enough for this weeks report, I'll try to get a few more fish porn pictures for nest week.

  5. I may be wrong, but I don't think prospectors have a keel to keep them tracking straight. Your is a smooth bottom correct? The one I rented 2 years ago didn't have a keel, it would turn on a dim. A strong wind would cause it to turn right around when I was solo paddling it. That being said, an outboard on it might be a bit sketchy hanging off the side Hard to keep it straight, and very tippy. You might want to consider a pontoon for stability. I made a very simple motor mount for my springbok that I bolted right through the gunwales. Just using wood 2x4, with (3x) 10-24 bolts on each side. I ran a 4hp motor on it for a few trips, and it worked great. Mostly used it for the electric trolling motor though. I don't know what my top speed would have been. Pretty quick, but certainly not 18km/hr.. So my guess is that you will go pretty darn good with a 4hp on your canoe. My springbok is about 80lbs. The springbok is extremely stable, but with 4hp hanging off the side, it would rock right up on its side when empty and almost flip over. Your canoe will most likely roll over if you don't counter balance it. Good luck man, Post pics when you get it mounted!

  10. if you look at all the photos and the size of the boat , I think the ram held up pretty well, I wonder how one of those aluminum made trucks that a tool boxes rip holes in them would have stood up

  11. Hey everyone, I made a video that shows the tips I described in the comments above. Its no where near Tactical Bassin quality haha...but it may help you out if you are having trouble getting bit on a frog. Not trying to promote my channel by any means, just think it could help someone out. Happy fishin!

  12. I don't know what a Salty S-10 looks like. I once cut slits in a Scottie for the exact same reason. I could use the pistol grip rods as well as spinning rods in the Scottie. In my mind I think I have seen holders with slots already cut into them for sale somewhere. When we were trolling for PIcs out of our little tinny my rod holder was usually my left hand. I always wanted to feel the line and rod tap. But it was nice to have something to hold it when I was doing something else. Trolling on the Great Lakes is different. Hard to hold 2 rods and run the boat. I've seen buddy hold 2 rods trolling for Smallies on Lake Erie though. The nut. That tight lock rod holder looks to be your $$ answer Reef.

  14. Jingle jangle.... hair elastics if it bugs ya! I keep a big pack of them on the boat from dollarama, comes in handy for lots of things including rod ties! I’ve always put the rods in below the reel.

  15. The man of the house is feeling "frisky" , so he says to his wife, I read that having sex is equal to running 6 miles. Wife says, that's impossible, no one can run 6 miles in 30 seconds...
