  2. Actually, I’m all for helping out newbies with general fishing inquiries. Here’s the problem though; there’s really only two categories of help required...where and how. The “how” part can be found a thousand different ways online from google to YouTube and shared by better fisherman than I. That only leaves the “where” and in my opinion, is the real root of the inquiry...in most cases. IMHO, it’s impolite to ask for favours before establishing any sort of relationship. Maybe I’m just an old school guy on the interweb! Lol

  3. We actually have in our rules that sharing spots is not something we encourage and prefer you do it in P.M. This helps keep places from getting to much attention. If you are getting P.M.s that you do not want you can block that person from sending future ones easily. Art

  4. I have had many people who I have no CLUE who they are PM me and ask me for info on 6-mile lake. Because they used the the OFC search feature, and found out I fish the lake a lot, and used to live on the lake. Does this happen to anyone else? Sometimes it's from seasoned forum members. But I h'ave had a few guys with single digit post counts asking me for detailed information. And they where not being very smooth about it... Those types don't get a reply..

  5. Had a decal put on my work truck and they first sprayed soapy water from a dollar store spray bottle, mix was soap and water (not sure of the amount of soap) carefully put decal on and because of the mix was easy to move decal to align to position after they used a rubber spatula to remove bubbles ,wiped it down and let it sit for 24hrs to allow to dry (any sooner hiway speeds can lift it) never uderstood why it didnt peel off but there was never any issue put over 200,000km on that truck before I switched trucks

  7. As you all know,I am hooked on this smoking hobby now. I am very pleased with the old one I got from Jessy a couple of years ago. It was my trial and error unit, and is still does it,s job, but the burner is getting weak. For the price of the burner,I got a brand new unit. 3 weeks ago I seen a brand new front loader at the local hock shop. This location I frequent regularly. I was actually their first customer back 24 years ago. Sold them a gas ice auger. So like I said,3 weeks ago, I was walking through the store and seen this brand new smoker. The asking price was a deal already, but I took a chance to see if it would be sitting around for a bit. After work today, I stopped in. Walk in casual just browsing. Peak around the corner where it,s been and well, it was still there. Owner comes walking by and asked how things are going. I say how would like to make my day? I will give you $100 for the smoker. Without even a pause,he says it,s yours. $100 cash no tax. SWEEEEEEET. Que Happy feet dance. It,s the front end loader and came with everything. I love the hanging rod. Oh there will be some sausages hanging on that. You will notice the sticker on the box. Le Barons and the price of the brine's and chips. I am not sure how these brine's will be and the chips, as I cannot find any expire dates on any of them. Will run a smoke session through it with out any meats in it first, then give it a whirl on Sunday.

  9. These mortality numbers do not take in the numbers of culled fish during the day who don't make it. Is any competitor going to keep a smaller fish when a larger is caught even if it's survival is questionable ?

  15. Lew sometimes things are just an accident meaning it can happen any time, anywhere to anyone. riding a motorcycle is about repeating a good time and feeling that you had the last time you rode. I have had thousands of good times riding and a few bad times either from mean people or bad situations which could have made me decide to not ride ever again. The many good times still make it worth the risk for me to keep riding. The few bad times enforce the resolve to keep the odds in my favor with training, equipment and awareness. Some people know what you did for a living and others don't but your job is their "motorcycle" meaning they would never think of running into a burning building no matter what the reason is. All of the bikes that my brother and I have are restored back to life and maintained by us. Many of these are bikes that we wanted to own from the 70s and 80s and couldn't afford them at the time but now we are able to have the toys we want. We ride them when we want to and go to local shows just so we can share them with others who remember their past rides. Art

  16. Looks like you'll probably be getting a new engine Wayne but it'll be one built in 2019...hopefully. From what I'm reading most guys are happy with the new engines and not reporting any issues so good luck to you if you go that route.

  17. Yeah stop catch and release. Just go to catch and keep within the limits of the law...46 teams x2 days with a 5 fish limit = 460 dead fish with a 100% mortality rate. In my opinion, a much more common sense approach would be to regulate limits by the size of the body of water and current weather conditions. I will guarantee that super hot humid weather played a huge role in the mortality rate. Why not run the tournament with a 3 fish limit for example?? People read articles like this and instantly focus on that one number without looking at the big picture. Want to save 183 bass quickly? Cut the catch and keep limits down to 3 fish across the province. You’ll save 183 bass first day on Erie alone!! And every Saturday thereafter. Knee jerk reactions rarely ever work out well.
