  1. Well, we've had 4 trips out with this new 2019 Honda 2.3 air cooled and I have got to say I'm impressed! First of all I got an excellent deal on it, just under $1000.00 all in and a 5 year warranty, RL Sports in Verner were wonderful to deal with! When I picked up the motor it had been fully serviced, tested, and was ready to go fishing. That's service you don't get from the big box stores! Weighing only 29 lbs it's easy to transport which makes it ideal for getting into those little back lakes. It fits easily into a cargo bag on the back of our ATV's, no need for special brackets or mounts and being stored in the cargo bag keeps it clean when running some of those bush trails we use. I was a little worried about how noisy it might be especially after reading some reviews, I'm not sure if they have changed something on the newer models but this thing is much quieter than I expected it to be. At an idle you can hardly even hear it (mind you I am a little deaf) Fuel economy is crazy good, a combination of trolling, running, idling, we got over 9 hours on one tank (about a liter) of gas. East to start: in most cases you hardly have to crank it over, a short easy pull and it's running! I really like the centrifugal clutch system, no shifting required, troll, idle, full speed, it all just flows together. Want reverse, just spin the motor. Being air cooled means you can run this thing into shallow, weedy, muddy, bays that would make you cringe with a water cooled motor. It has plenty of power for what we do with it, two men in a 12' boat and it moves along surprising fast, where we would have spent hours paddling to cover some of the areas we fish we can now be fishing in a few minutes and you're not exhausted at the end of the day. All in all I'd give this motor a 5 out of 5 star rating!

  2. Just back from my BC trip and all I can say is amazing!!!!!! I cannot find one thing that I could complain about with Duncanby Lodge. The fishing again was amazing, I have no idea of how many chinook that I caught; I lost count? Anything under 10lbs we released; along with anything above 30lbs (Called a Tyee) due to their genetics of being that big. I was lucky enough to be on a boat where one of the guys landed a Tyee at 32lbs We were able to release it after about 10 minutes of hard work for it to swim away strong. The lodge owner and guides were very pro catch and release of these large fish. To make it even more appealing they offer up a hand carved center pin reel to anyone that releases a Tyee. My largest fish was 20lbs and all fight; it and the others came out of the water 5 or 6 times trying to shake the hook. Being barb less hooks just added to the fight. I have never fished with a center pin before; so it was also a bit of a challenge; but now I'm looking to buy one. We also fished for ling cod and rock fish (sorry no pics) . I was reeling in about a 3 lb rock fish and a ling cod grabbed it and had my fish half way down its throat by the time I landed them both. Here is one of the 20lbers that I caught. If anyone here ever is offered a trip to fish the West coast of BC; do not hesitate to go. Just amazing fishing. Dan.

  3. After a terrible spring with high water levels and low water temps, so much debris in the water from flooding. Things started to pick up after the second week of June. We have been catching really good numbers of Walleye in the parry sound inland area. Stocking efforts seem to have been working as I have seen walleye in the the 1 to 4 lbs range way more than we ever have the last 20 years I have been fishing this area. Bass is offically on fire now as well. Small mouth is king here as there are millions of them. My best friend with her first walleye of the year and the first in the boat this year. She was mad I cut her face our of the the picture. I think she understands now that its all about the fish not the person. hahahaha My son with his first fish of the year. My buddy with a smaller table sized fish First Pike was very late this year coming well into June. some good fish. e Yes Im throwing a pic of my girls on this thread cause well they are amazing fishing partners. Last night water crept up on some parts of the lake to 74. I was on the water at 6pm and didnt get a bite till 910pm. However it was fast and furious then died down to nothing at 10pm. I got into some good walleye, some small bass and smaller walleye (good sign to see the small ones). Maybe about 10 to 12 fish all right after each other minus a ten minute battle with a treble hook in my rubber net (only me I tell you). So the fish look way bigger than they are in this pic. They were both 17.5 inches and just shy of 2lbs. I let the bigger ones go right away so didn't get pics as the action was fast and I didnt want to take time taking pics for them unless it was a true trophy. For me I let anything go over 3lbs (unless deep hooked) and keep the smaller ones for the table. I will end with this shot from last weekend. I had a 10 minute boat ride back right into this beauty of a sunset. What a night!

  5. Brown is supposed to be a decent player feom what i hear. He didn't get much of a chance to play for the laffs is what I hear. Harpur is slow and basically a pylon Ceci is slow, won't hit and has no shot Spezza is well past his prime, can still win faceoffs, that's it. The Sens gave up nothing.......absolutely nothing. So if only Brown works out, Sens will be ahead.

  6. The best fish will own the best areas. The bait you use will be secondary to finding the right area. And the area will repeat.

  7. Harpur, Ceci from Ottawa Spezza a laff as well...…….? And you laffites think you are better ?????? ? Dumbas and Shanny have succeeded to make the laffs worse.....

  8. If live bait is allowed ... large minnows. Big ones. Large bass will smash them if you are in the spot.

  10. Interesting take on Canada Day trades. Ailish Forfar claims that Ottawa made the greatest gains because they acquired the most ex-Leaf players; which will help build a team culture. I think Phaneuf is still available too. https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/video/did-senators-rule-canada-day-213439227.html
