  1. Hi all, fishing has been great, catching not so much... lol. Jack wanted to come early morning snook hunting with me and landed a dandy. The fish hit my weedless set up 3 times with no hook up so I changed us both over to 3/8oz swimbait jig head with a 3.5” Berkeley Ripple Shad in the tried and trusted pearl/pink. 3 minutes later I hear Jack yelling and turn around to see something on his line almost pulling him over. I had to use every ounce of self control not to take the rod from him even though he asked and was a little bit panicky, he thought it might be a shark and was scared. He did a superb job of taming the fish and was a little bit pumped, so pumped in fact that we ended up leaving 5 minutes later because he wanted to tell his mum!

  2. I thought it might be fun to take the family on a road trip on March break and watch the Leafs in ottawa. I checked, the crappiest seats are $180 each, so no thanks. Interesting though, a couple days earlier, we could see St Louis/ sens for $29 a ticket, lol, and that's on March break! Unless the Leafs are in town, they can't give the tickets away. What a disgusting blemish ottawa and the sens are on Canadian hockey.

  3. I have the 12v/110v Foodsaver sportsman vacuum. It works great, got it at Costco on sale for $69. Wait for the bags to go on sale at Costco as well. They give you lots of bags for about $30 Rob C

  6. I grew up in Mississauga and it was a great place in the 70's and 80's. Now, not so much. The last time I visited I couldn't believe what a zoo it was. It blew me away that derry road was now as wide as 1/2 of the 401!!! I remember when it was 1 lane each way through farm country. ?

  7. My take. I have a big veggie garden and I have also always bought bigger cuts of meat on sale and cut up and froze into meal size portions. I tried a good food saver unit about 10 years ago and it lasted a year. Maybe I just had bad luck or maybe I used it a way more then your average Joe. Anyway since then I have found that if I take my portions and carefully wrap in saran wrap then seal in a ziplock bag it works just fine. I have had packages of frozen perch get buried and lost in the freezer sometimes for over a year and I know this because I date everything with a sharpie when it goes in the freezer. I find it, take it out and cook it up and it's just as good as stuff that has only been frozen for a couple of weeks. Wrap it in saran wrap carefully and squeeze out all the air and you will get zero freezer burn. I will never spend another dime on any type of vacuum sealer.
