Well Christmas is fast approaching and I've been busy in the shop with rod work of course and also busy playing with some new materials (resins, mica powders, aluminum sheeting) for my Stocking Stuffer Wine Bottle Stoppers. But the big ticket item this year is a couple of Custom Knives for my two Daughter's. I've never attempted this before and of course I didn't forge the Steel (yet!) but I am trying my hand, for the first time at making and assembling the knife handle's from a kit. The wood blocks provided are stabilized Curly Maple. Oh and I can also assure you that the knives are indeed .... razor sharp! Don't ask me how I know. 😁 I'm anxious to get back at it in the morning once the glue has set.

I'm sure there are battery shops out there that can refurbish the old one with new batteries.

I may have mentioned this before but I'm a huge fan of Steely Dan. At least twice a year I go through their entire collection in order of release and I never tire of it. This tune is right up there, the only song I know of where a melodica played by Donald Fagan has a big part.

Same with mine, I just looked at my hydro bill for this year/ last year and it is up by just over $10.00 for the same period and last year I had a propane furnace. So far I am really impressed and saving a lot of money. I am also finding I don't need to keep playing with my thermostat like I did with the propane furnace. So $10.00 in hydro versus whatever it would have cost me in propane for a month. Clean, quiet, comfortable, so far so good.
