  2. I’ve mentioned it before, but I’ll say it again. The motherboard for those older ones is no longer available. I just confirmed this with aikmans. I’m repairing mine at the moment and brushes and seals etc are available. Motherboard not so much. Not a problem unless that main component goes on you. You should be leary of buying used stuff by now. Unless you have the ability to walk away from deals when something doesn’t seem right, you should probably stick with newer stuff. They have the terrova with the mini remote for sale for $2k plus tax at cabelas. I’d buy that before I spent $1800 on an 11 year old electric.
  3. Pair of 4" Lyman wood fishing lures. $30 each or $50 for the pair.
  4. Are you talking about the one that tops off at about 5 ft depending on the time of year
  5. No worries thanks for the heads up though. Since you k ow Gloucester pole do you know here the sunken island is? I last fished at is when I was 19 (24 years ago) and couldn’t find it to save my life last year
  6. I can’t remember, I have always gone through in a small boat so never thought about it and haven’t been there in about 6 years

  8. I agree nothing comes close to Gloucester and yes it’s a short boat ride (by the way how big of boat can you get under the bridge?). So that’s my argument to the wife that fishing for the kids and risk of algae bloom is better /less expensive in Gloucester but she likes the Maclean place better (fashion of function with these ladies lol). So will kids still have decent fun in Maclean off the dock vs what they have in go home bay?
  9. IMO Gloucester pool is 3 times better fishing then Maclean but it’s only a short boat ride between them
  10. Looking at a cottage on Maclean Lake and wondering if the fishing is any good. I grew up on the Gloucester Poole and know what to expect there but never went into maclean lake. Everything I do find fo rinfo doesn't look to good. Wife likes the cottage and it checks a lot of the boxes but if there is no fish then we got a problem.
  11. I don't think this one has a remote? There were also some big changes to bluetooth around 2016. Guys on BBC forum will help you knowing what to buy.
  12. Yes, Minn Kota parts are widely available and some excellent repair shops around...Prop Shop, Aikman's.. A foot control (not a necessity, but a must have for me) is $350, if you add it to that used one. Complete package on sale at Cabela's :
  13. It's a 2013. Getting weary of buying used stuff!! But no way am I dropping $3000+ on a new one So do these things have a good service and parts support/network?
  14. That's great. A lot more 60" out there. thanks very much
  15. Finally upgraded my old workhorse Maxxum to the Terrova this spring and was now interested in a Quick Release mount. So far in my manual, it does state that composite models MKA-21 and RTA-17 are not compatible. Anyone have any positive/negative experience with these to be aware of. I would prefer something lockable but the biggest features is durability and being super solid. I've heard a few instances of some play in the mount and base plates when the motor kicks in. Thanks all
  16. Steak mushrooms and more Brussel sprouts lol. The past few years I've grown super fond of Brussel sprouts Northern pike boil. Just a basic soup. Chunk uo your northern and add it to the stock with about 4 minutes left. Super good and caused me to keep alot more pike in the 25" range Bartered a homie for some of his fish peppers to make a salsa for nachos! So good
  17. That is the same as the one I had on my 169. I'd like a foot pedal even though I used the remote 90% of the time.
  18. Yessir bunk! Never really chased any trophies last year but the numbers were insane! Also was by far my best trout year but lost alot of pics flipping the yak. And lol on the Grey beard comment. It's probably 80% Grey or more these days, and all the compliments come from women lol. So I don't mind!
  19. I'm glad I'm not the only one getting gray in my beard lol. Kayak fishing is something I'm going to be doing this year. Nice pics man
  20. Yes, the depth the motor head/prop sits below the surface of the water is completely adjustable on a TM. Longer is always better than shorter. If too short, the prop may not get enough "bite" for maximum power/control. If the water is shallow or extremely weedy where you're fishing, you can bring the motor up higher, as needed. Not sure how high the top of that bow is off the water, but 45" is probably the bare minimum for that boat. A 60" should be fine, if not preferable.
  21. Would like to attend just one show, some day! Always away working when it's on though. Some incredible bait makers, anglers and quite the fishy culture for the big toothy beasts all comes together there and it'd be sweet to meet and enjoy that vibe with others.
  22. A nice collection of fish Rick. Walleye paradise just outside your door.
  23. So the current motor is 45" shaft. Can you get away with a 60" (can these be adjusted?) ? I'm assuming that you want avoid the blades too high up in the water column.. but deeper in the water it'll still function properly?
